Jon nodded to everyone with a faint smile. He looked tired but not quite as strung out as pre-vacation. He was also very professionally dressed, in a button-up, waistcoat, and pressed trousers.
"We had quite a few chances to better ourselves over the last week," he began, "but that was mostly physical. Today we're going to better ourselves mentally. We're headed to the library."
And if you were wondering why you were in Portalocity, it was because you were going to what a part of Jon's brain would always consider
the library. He led them briskly through the portal and onto... "Wait. This isn't the Bodleian." He frowned around at
their environs. "Well. Welcome to the Library of Congress, I suppose. It is the largest library in the world," he admitted grudgingly, "so I suppose it will do."
He waved at the room they were in. "Pick a topic and research it. There are
a number of research centers, if you like, or you can access their digital collections or simply explore. You're supposed to have a library card, but the ones I got us are for Oxford," he said pointedly in case the gnomes were listening. (They weren't.) "Anyway, pick something that interests you and research it. Read. It's good for your brain. Assuming the books aren't evil."
He didn't
think they were here.
