sword_chocobro: ((older) grinning look over)

Gladio was absolutely still holding class that week. It'll be good for everyone, right, to let out a little bit of energy in a slightly different way than they might otherwise! And even though he was definitely going to be interrupted every once in a while the occasional bout of sneezing, he was definitely going ahead with the lesson, as everyone gathered on a court in the danger shop that made it pretty clear to anyone who'd seen it before what they were doing.

"Today," he said, "we're going to learn about tennis. Now, I don't know a whole lot about how to play tennis, so to brush up on the details, we're going to start class today by watching some examples of tennis matches and breaking it down from there."

You know. Video clips of tennis. The sport notorious for its suggestive grunting.

Look, if you hadn't realized by now that your teacher was an absolutely unapologetic and unrelenting troll, then that was on you, really.

"And then we'll see what we can do ourselves out on the court, whacking around those balls."

Seriously. Why would anyone cancel classes this week when they had opportunities like this right in front of them?

"Okay," Don said, looking only slightly jittery, because he could handle this. He was a professional. "I decided it would be best to rearrange the schedule and talk to you today about safe sex. For reasons." Pollen reasons. "I'm basically obligated to remind you the safest option is not having sex at all--zero chance of STDS--uh, I guess they're calling them STIs now? Sexually transmitted infections--or pregnancy that way. But, let's face it, no one's perfect and you're probably not monks." Or eunuchs. So let's talk about how to use various forms of protection."

Don got through the handwavey lecture and demo (with a banana, you pervs) on how to use things like condoms and dental dams with only minimal embarrassment, because he was, in fact, a professional, but if one looked closely the tips of his ears were rather red, and when he finished he stumbled over, "Does anyone--does anyone have any questions?" because he maybe dreaded a little what those questions might be.

Belle had listened to radio and was forewarned about possibly book misbehaviors. Somehow she was still not prepared for what she encountered. But then, who was ever really prepared for amorous books cavorting in indecent ways in full view?

The book on pineapples that was flitting from group to group had her confused but not confused enough to research it.

The tiny RIP sign next to a single flower and a squirrel-sized hat was also not going to be further explored.

Instead, Belle was going to try and keep the romances and the erotica and the romantasy from doing anything they might regret by next week. Did books have regrets? Did gremlins? Belle was certainly glad she wasn't seeing any gremlins at this time. That might be too much. The books were bad enough!

At least they provided a bit of distraction which Belle was sorely in need of by this point in the week. She would circulate amongst the stacks, trying to maintain some semblance of order and when she wasn't doing that she was going to read the spiciest romances she could find about knights and damsels. Or maybe there would be a good one about a mysterious older man in a castle (or a bookshop, or anything else that might be mysterious in and of itself).

The movie projector was set up because this was not their first rodeo.

"Sometimes it's about distraction rather than relaxation," Cara said bluntly.

Jane nodded quickly, biting her bottom lip to keep from making a comment. "Exactly. So today is going to be quick!"

Hopefully.

"In any case, today we'll watch a movie about girls being proactive about meeting girls." No, there was absolutely no sarcasm in Cara's voice.

"Maybe don't use these exact methods," Jane suggested helpfully.

"Unless you know she's into it."
