sword_chocobro: ((older) grinning look over)

"Well, guys," said Gladio, with a big grin at the class as he gave the big sword that had been wresting on his shoulders a casual little twirl off of it and to his side, "it's the last class, which pretty much means I want you guys to really work on what we've gone over this semester, ask any questions if there's anything you'd like to learn a little more about or if there's anything I didn't touch on that you were sort of hoping I would and pretty much get in at least one more good session of sparring and practicing.

"Now, the real tricky thing with a class like this," he added, "is that these are skills that need to keep being worked on and practiced beyond these seven weeks. If you were here to just sort of give it a try and see if you like it and that's that, then I hope you at least got plenty to take with you. But if it's something you took because you were hoping to develop this skills for good, then remember that this doesn't end here. It's important to keep going, and while training on your own might work for you, just know that I'm willing to take this beyond this classroom, too. If you're interested, let me know, maybe we can arrange some sort of extra-curricular thing. I am always up for more training, more learning, and more fighting."

His grin flashed broad again.

"But enough talk. Let's get warmed up, and let's get to hitting things with big, sharp sticks."

“Today,” Sam said, “we shall be enjoying a wide assortment of appropriate culture here in the British Museum!” Appropriate, appropriated. Same thing, right?

The students might hear muted meeping coming from the museum's vaulted ceiling. And John Williams-style theme music.

“You shall be exploring the museum on your own today,” Sam continued, giving the ceiling a very suspicious look. Where was Beaker?

"Meeeeeeeeeeee--" Beaker cried, swinging down on a whip he'd gotten from somewhere and wearing the fedora that had been next to the whip, and right into a priceless artifact from somewhere that definitely wasn't the British Isles. "Meep meep mee!"

You cannot lift that, Beaker.

“Exploring the museum!” Sam repeated. “Not stealing from the museum! Unhand that this instant!”

But Beaker wanted to return this ten foot solid granite statue to Egypt, Sam! Just…give him a second. And maybe a pallet jack. This might be an excellent time to disappear, students, while your teachers are distracted…

“Beaker, no! This belongs in a museum! This museum!”

Where had Joe from Legal come from and why was he holding a stack of papers?

“Oh, I’m getting a note,” Sam said, clearing his throat and beginning to read. “Oh dear.”

"MEEP MEEP MEEEEEEE--"

In case you've ever wondered what "Vive la révolution " sounded like when Beaker said it.

“It appears that certain things may not belong in this museum!” Sam was shocked. Dismayed. Horrified. Being handed another paper to read by Joe from Legal. “Of course the British would do such a thing…oh no! Students! Go explore! Try to foil Beaker if you can but do try not to explode yourselves or any art.”

Sam needed a moment to himself to come to terms with the contents of the notes from Legal.

The cocktail shaker was out and the television was on at the House of Ill-Repute.

What, you didn't think Aphra was going to let a session go by without playing this, did you?

"For our final we want you to engage in some deep thoughts about what you've learnt over the past few weeks. While watching one of the philosophical classics of our times." Yes, Aphra said that with a straight face.

"Deep respectful thoughts."
