"So like...dates. I guess they're the stuff you do before you find somewhere to flang," Navaan said with a shrug. "They're supposed to help you get to know the other person, which sounds like a lot of work just to get laid, but you're all here for romance so I guess that's what you wanna do? Dinner and a movie is the usual, but ordering pizza and then telling the delivery person you don't have any cash and you'll have to pay for it another way is a lot more fun. You can even make your own movie if you want!"

Look. That might not be what you wanted to hear, but that didn't make her wrong.

"There are also a bunch of different things you could do if you don't just wanna eat dinner or see a movie." Navaan was clearly reading off of notes. "You can have a picnic somewhere. Or go hiking. Or get coffee. Or--ughhhhhhhhhhhhh these are all so boring. All this stuff sucks. Just go out and get drunk and go back to somebody's house! It's easy! Why are you all complicating it? Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

"I don't know, stand up and tell people about what you'd do for a romantic first date and we'll all talk about ways to make it suck less or whatever. You!" She pointed to someone. "You're up."

"Alright, everyone," said Gladio, with the expected nod and a moment to sort of crack his knuckles before really getting into today's lesson, "we've been learning a lot of stuff so far, and it's great, and I've been seeing a lot of you taking some of this training outside the classroom with supplemental workouts, and I can't even tell you how good it is to see that! After all, there's only so much that can be done once a week in a classroom; I try to give you the tools to really excel in swordwork like this, and some of you are taking those tools and using it to build something great, and I love to see it.

"And the thing with building on something is that you add a little bit each time while making sure the foundation's still strong. So, today, we're going to do a small bit of recap to really keep driving in those basics before we move onto something a little more focused. Specifically...well, we called it something else where I'm from, but here, it's been known as a Meyers Square, which you can see I've got a few mock-ups behind me. The goal of this exercise is to teach you to swiftly cut through and along the line of your previous attack, a little one-two move meant to work against your opponent's defense. It might seem a little technical and complex at first, but once you start to recognize the trick of the pattern, it should start to flow much more easily.

"But we'll get to that in due time. For now, we've got warm-ups and review, then we'll learn more about the Square, and then hopefully still have time for some sparring in again this week, too. Anything in particular you want to go over before we get into it?"

Welcome back everyone, this time to the Wisconsin State Fair in exotic Milwaukee! Paris was so last week, okay. "Meep meep meep mee!" Beaker said excitedly between bites of deep fried something on a stick. Where was that food going? The world will never know.

It was better that way. Really.

“Welcome to a State Fair, students!” Sam boomed. “A fine, American cultural tradition!”

What could possibly go wrong with Fandom students set loose at a State Fair by Muppets?

"Meep meep meep meep mee!" Beaker said enthusiastically, gesturing at all the food available. "Meep meep meep meep meep."

Hopefully Sam would translate the instruction to find something amazing to eat or drink and bring it back to tell the class about!

“Yes, Beaker, there are a variety of foods available! There are also, more importantly, cultural exhibits to view! I will expect a full report on one of those when you return. You may, if you so choose, also bring back something you can eat or drink.”

"Meep meep mee."

And one for Beaker.

Sam sighed. “Beaker will be awarding extra points if you share with him.”

Sam would be getting one of those red white and blue slushies. Obviously.
