"Last week," Prompto said, this time sitting on the counter at the shelter as he grinned a little at the students as they came in, "we did a little puppy photography, so it just stands to reason that, this week, we're moving onto the cats. Now, cats are interesting as photography subject, because they're notoriously less inclined to training than dogs are, and, in fact, seem to always have a habit of doing the exact opposite of what they want you to. There's a reason most of the pictures of my own cat are taken when she's sleeping or just tired. Because any other time, it seems, whenever I try to get a shot of her doing something really cute or engaging, she manages to move her head or shift or turn away at just the moment I snap the pic!" He chuckled a little, fondly and shaking his head. "Very different kinds of models, these guys.

"But that doesn't mean it all has to be a crapshoot, either!" he continued, grinning faintly at what he thought was a pretty subtle and clever pun there, as he hop down from the counter. "Today, we're going to talk a little about how to get a feline to fee-line a little more picture perfect!"

With lots and lots of examples as he goes through the tips, as well!

"Really, though, what it boils down to is a lot of patience, a lot of being willing to hit some awkward positions, and a lot of love. Let's break it down a little, and then you guy'll have a chance to try and snag your own cat photos that'll have all the social media platforms going nuts for these adorable little furballs!"

Blame it on the drinking...class, but Yukari was showing up to class that day ready to race in her bikini.

Look, she didn't get to use these icons nearly as much as she would like, so she was running for it. They were all adults here, right? Well, maybe not mentally, but that was beside the point. Besides! They were on a beach! Swimsuits made sense!

"We've gone from nice smooth asphalt to dusty dirt roads," she started, "and now? We're driving on sand, baby! So don't get your tires stuck and if you run the races fast enough, then you can just pull up a beach chair and relax, but it's the danger shop, so I don't think you'll actually get much of a tan while you're doing it. But hey! That means no need to bother with sunscreen!

"Anyway," she said, "I'm getting ahead of myself. Go ahead, and pick out your vehicle for this week, and we'll hit the sand! Watch out for crabs, and there's a pirate guy over there in the bay that'll shoot cannonballs at you, but I'm sure you've got this no problem, right? Right! Everyone, to your vehicles! Let's go!"

"The subject for today came up a couple of times in my previous workshop," Don told his students, "so I thought we should talk about it, even though I really hope none of you ever have to do it on the training of one summer workshop session. Let's talk about a tracheotomy.

Did the paintball course today look suspiciously like an agility training course for dogs, only human-sized? Well. Yes. But! Steve was no longer a golden retriever, so you at least had that going for you?

"Welcome to the second session!" Steve said with a grin. "My apologies for being...indisposed...the last two weeks."

"But at least no one will be running from a dog this week," Tony added brightly.

Steve laughed. "I was kinda good at that, wasn't I?"

"But this week, you'll actually get to compete against each other." Exciting, right?

"Grab your rifles and your clothing-protective jumpsuits--" just what everyone wanted to wear in mid-July, "--and get ready to run!"

Or hide in that giant plastic tunnel thing.

Today, class was meeting in the Danger Shop, which was programmed into a modern kitchen. Or something more like several of them, to allow for differences.

"Cooking appliances have changed a bit over the years," Jon said, "so if you're coming from somewhere or somewhen else, I thought we'd go over them."

He gestured at the first stove. "Stovetops can be electric or gas. This is an electric one that's slightly older; it's got coils. This one," he went to the next one, "is also electric, but it's got a flat top. Either of these works the same way: there are knobs, one for each of the elements, and you turn them to switch a specific element on." He demonstrated the high and low ends, showed how the elements might glow or have a light to show they were on. "This one," he went to the next stove, "is gas. I don't know if there are any of these on the island, but just in case. These have a little flame called a pilot light that's always on. Er. Well, it should be. If you smell something bad, check the light, because if it's not on, the gas could be leaking, which would make...well, to oversimplify it, it would make the whole room flammable. But turning the knob for an element lights the flames in the element, and then you just cook over the fire. In a pan or pot. All of these use cookware. Cooking food directly on them is messy and may ruin them.

"Under a stove, you almost always have an oven. That's for things you need to bake or heat all around instead of just from the bottom up." Look, he was competent, but he wasn't a chef. If you wanted details, ask Hannibal. "There's a knob that lets you adjust the temperature, and then you put the food inside it. Usually also in cookware, but not always."

He moved to the next equipment. "This is a microwave oven. It cooks food by pushing radiation through it. It cooks much faster than a stove or oven, but it has limitations - you can't put metal in it, it won't make things crispy, and apparently it's bad for heating water for tea. You put food inside it, close the door, then push the buttons to type in how long you want to heat things for. You may also be able to control the level of radiation, but honestly, you won't often need to."

And the last bit of cooking equipment he held up proudly. "This is an electric kettle. You fill it with water, plug it in, and press the button, and it boils water. Perfect for tea, or anything else you might want hot water for."

He waved at one last thing. "That's a refrigerator. Usually there's a big part and a small part. The small part is for frozen things, the large part keeps things cold but not frozen. There's not much else to know about it, but it's very useful."

He went over his lecture mentally to make sure he hadn't forgotten things, then nodded. "If you have any questions, please ask; otherwise we can get to cooking things."
