"Hey, guys!" Prompto could be found waiting near the puppy pen, where he'd set up a few chairs if anyone wanted to sit in them while he did his lecture for the day, but, um, there was a puppy pen, why would anyone want to sit on a chair when they could be sitting with puppies? But that was neither here nor there. There was a folding table set up in front of him with a few boxes and a small stack of photo albums, and he had a projector screen set up behind him. "Welcome back for more pet photography! Today, we'll be focusing on dogs, but, before we get into that, I wanted to take a moment to hand these out to you guys. They're albums for the pictures you take in this class and outside of it; by the send of the session, I'd like you have collected enough pet and animal pictures to be able to present a portfolio at the very end of class, so I'll get these to you guys now so you can slowly start building it. Sound good? Any questions, let me know.

"But, like I said, today, I wanted to talk about dogs in pet photography, and there's a lot to work with there! Dogs are a pretty popular pet, especially in photography, because dogs are also pretty well-known for being able to be trained to perform. They're all such good boys! But if you're talking about dogs and photography, a lot of people are going to think about William Wegman, who is probably best known for his work in photographing Weimaraners specifically, in costumes and settings to make them look like people. They even did acting segments on kids' TV shows!

"Some of his work," Prompto started to go through some slides on the projector now, "are a bit more artistic, some of it definitely can be uncanny, and some worry that it might be a bit cruel to pose and dress up the dogs like that. We're definitely not looking to do anything that intense today, but we do have some eager models," he gestured toward the puppies, some of whom were being impossibly cute with their wagging tails and excited faces, "some costumes and props," he gestured toward the boxes, "and some spaces for setting up a scene if you really want to get into it. There's also the kennel suites; the guy I used to work here with and ran the place before me set those up like little boutique hotel rooms, so there's a lot to work with already here at the shelter. I've got snacks and toys for the dogs if you need to sweeten the deal a little, but basically, let's just get out there and have fun and take some cute pictures, yeah?"

Ah, what a nice sunny day inside the danger shop that week! Entering, the racers were transported to a nice idyllic countryside vista, with rolling hills, lots of fences, a big red-roofed barn in the distances, and cows.

So many cows.

"Well, yee-haw, everybody!" said Yukari, in her best little country Texas drawl (it was not great) and a tip of the straw cowboy hat she was wearing, "and welcome to our next race here in the Fandom Grand Prix! We're taking it to the country with this track today! That means we're working on some rougher terrain, rather than the nice smooth track we were used to last week, and you've got to watch out for cows wandering over the track and moles popping up all over the place! That'll definitely put you out for a bit! So let's get our cars selected, and then let's get to racing and see who takes home the prize today!"

Beta actually remembered what day it was in time to post for once was absolutely not built for this kind of weather, so it was frankly a small miracle that she was upright and functional. Even riding through desert Tenakth territory hadn't been sticky and awful like this.

She missed the climate control back at GAIA Base, really she did, but at least there was air conditioning in here.

...also entire DVD box sets of old TV shows, as she'd just discovered, so don't mind her while she tried to figure out how to rig up a DVD player she could link to her Focus. What? There was no fun in her just trying to buy one. It wasn't like it would be hard, anyway.

"Some people," Don said to his class, "can fly. Maybe they have wings, or magic, or rocket boots. Maybe they are, a word I just recently learned, self-yeeting." And now he was using that word as much as possible because it annoyed Thor, the self-yeeter in question, and Thor was being weird lately and thus deserved to be annoyed. "And sometimes those people fall out of the sky or they go smack into a building, because of reasons.

"Now, most of the time people who can fly seem to have some sort of inbuilt protection against the normal consequences of physics. Or body armor, for the guy with rocket boots. And that's great, because falling from great height or slamming into a solid surface at high velocity are usually, you know, very bad for a human or humanoid body. So what are you looking for when your flying friend leaves a them-shaped crater in the pavement and then doesn't get up and walk away?

Jon came into the classroom today with a large cardboard box, which he set on the desk at the front.

"Good afternoon. Today we'll be jumping to something much more complex, yet fairly important in daily life at this time." Though possibly not quite as important as Summer believed.

He took his own out of his pocket. "This is a mobile. Or I suppose around here it's mostly called a phone. A cellular telephone. That means it's designed to be a mode of voice communication you can take nearly anywhere with you. It uses electricity to fill its batteries, so you plug it in until the indicator here shows it's at one hundred percent, and then you can unplug it and bring it with you.

"You can use it for its original intent, which is calling others, by going here. The image on this button is designed to look like an old-fashioned telephone handset. From here, each telephone has a number, and if you type in that number, it will ring that telephone." He dialed a number and one of the phones in the box rang. He took a moment to fish it out. "Then the person on the other end presses the green button to answer, and you can talk."

He paused for a moment. "But, erm. That's actually their original purpose, but many people no longer use it. You can also type messages to other people, look up all kinds of information you might need, engage in social media, which is rather like being at a party or posting bills, or...or diving into shark-infested waters, honestly. And you can also play games. So today, I'll pass this around, and you can take a phone if you don't already have one, and we'll go through a few of these things. And after class, if you have any further questions, Summer at the Turtle and Canary or Caritas is an excellent resource. As well as providing these phones, she uses hers very frequently for many different things."

Because Jon mostly texted people and watched cat videos.
