doesdoctorstuff: Navaan from Trudy Cooper's Oglaf (Happy Landing)

Once again, because Navaan's students were the absolute luckiest, they were meeting in town to catch a portal back to Navaan's world. "I hope you have your bags and your leeches," she announced as soon as they were gathered. "Because today we're going to actually start doctoring! I'm friends with these monks and I take care of them. I even killed a god to keep my little guys safe, so a few ground rules. Rule one: These guys are important to me, so take this very seriously. I want to see everyone's A-games, you got that? Rule two: These are my patients. I'm letting you help them because you're my students, but absolutely no poaching. You can get your own patients on your own time. Rule three: Okay, I forget rule three, but I'm sure it's important and I'll tell you as soon as I remember it. Don't break it anyway, you've been warned."

She glared at the class, making sure that they saw she was very, very serious. "Now, when we get to them, you're each gonna get a monk, you'll diagnose the issue, and then we'll discuss what we think the best treatment is." The portal opened behind her and she gestured her students through. "Oh! Right! I remember Rule Three!"

When the students stepped through the portal, they'd see a brilliant circus under the night sky. Lanterns and torches provided light, there were people teeming everywhere, with barkers crying out games, wares, and sideshows. "The third rule is..." Navaan began as she stepped out from the portal. Then she stopped, staring in fascination at the circus.

"Why didn't anyone tell me this was on?" she asked, before running pell-mell towards the big top. "Let's go, guys! We're going to the circus!"

At the meeting spot outside the preserve, the class would find Gladio there waiting, with packs already prepared, and with Ignis there standing beside him, and as everyone gathered, he greeted them with a grin.

"Hey, guys," he said, and then hitched a thumb toward his companion, "I know you all know Iggy here at least a little, if not more, so you've probably figured out just by him being here what today's lesson is going to be focusing on: camp food. So I hope you're hungry, but, if not, maybe the hike to the campsite'll get that appetite going. When we get there, Igs is going to show you a few cool cooking techniques for camping and hopefully you'll have a few of your own you can share, too. But let's save that for when we get there. Grab a pack and let's get moving."

"Try to contain your shock," said Rosa, once everyone was there at the beach or everyone who bothered to either be there or at least be on time, "but today, we're going to be moving onto the third chakra, the manipura chakra, also called the solar plexus or the navel chakra, and it pretty much just means 'place of shining gem'. Which, any of you remember those troll dolls? Yeah, make that interesting connection to the navel chakra. Anyway, this is the chakra where confidence and power is said to come from, so...if you ever get that feeling like you could take over the whole world sometimes? That's due to this chakra being balanced, and when you feel doubt, insecurity, and a lack of direction, that's said to be an indication that you need to work on this one a little. Allegedly. I have no idea what any of that feels like. My solar plexus chakra is apparently just always balanced.

"So this chakra is, obviously, no pints if you guessed it, supposed to be located above the navel," with a hand on her stomach to demonstrate, "and is associated with the element of fire, the color yellow, and good digestion, actually. So maybe it wasn't that burrito you had from that sketchy food truck the other day, but instead an unbalanced manipura chakra.

"Probably the burritos, though. If any of you are dealing with that kind of unbalanced manipura chakra right now, please work downwind of your fellow classmates."

Unless you hate them, in which....respect.

"The poses associated with opening up this chakra as usually related with harnessing the energy of the sun, so we're already on the right path by starting with our sun salutations. We're also going to focus on a classic seated forward bend, bow pose, half spinal twist, upward plank pose, and cobra pose. A lot of ground work on this one, so let's warm up, and then have a seat and we'll get started going over those."

“Today we have candy bars,” Stark said. “And we’ll be watching a show called Unwrapped which was about the making of various foods. Lots of different sorts of foods including lots of candies and today I thought we’d have chocolate bars because why not have chocolate bars?”

It was totally sound logic, okay?

“This episode was called ”Candy Bar Bonanza” and talked about Milky Way and Twix and a candy bar made with bacon. Which is odd but fine. But bacon doesn’t really need to be in everything even though sometimes people think it does.”

“So,” he continued, “I have all of the candy bars mentioned in the episode for you all to try if you like and some others as well.” Because why not? “And maybe you can decide which is your favorite, if you like? We could discuss chocolate bars. Why not?”

Look, this workshop was meant to just be fun and involve watching TV and eating snacks but they could pretend to have discussions. As a treat.

Your teachers were actually here today. It was a spring miracle.

"So, Kansas is terrible and nowhere near as interesting as people think." Hope no one in the class actually liked Kansas. "Especially when you get trapped in some horrific corn-field centred time-space anomaly."

No. They had not gotten lost and spent the better part of two weeks trying to get back out of Kansas again. That was just crazy talk. There'd been a horrific corn-field centred time-space anomaly.

"On the other hand being surrounded by nothing but corn as far as the eye can see does lead one to stretch their imagination as they try to remember there ever being anything but corn." It had been a very traumatising experience. Isabela was not made for the land-locked life.

"In any case, good luck figuring this out," Aphra told them, as, extremely predictably, the blank walls of the Danger Shop were replaced with a giant cornfield.

Albeit one that was full of many different and exciting colours of corn. Because monocultures were bad. Or something.
