sword_chocobro: ((older) hang ten)

Class would be meeting in the Danger Shop that morning, in part for its intended purpose to safely prevent injuries, perhaps, but mostly just because it was sometimes just easier to mock something up in there than to arrange a field trip. So the students would find themselves in a nice winter wonderland on the summit of a mountain, with a nice slope down one side and a lovely pine grove forest on the other, and considering that Gladio stood beside some racks of skiing equipment and snowshoes, it was probably pretty clear to anyone who recognized it what they were doing today.

"We're heading into winter here," he explained, "and so I figured we'd look at a few different snow activities before we get entirely sick of it, or to give you the chance to maybe learn more about it before trying it out in the wild. Skiing, where you use these flat, bladed apparatus to slide over snow and down slopes, and snowshoeing, where you use these flat, meshed apparatus to walk through the snow. We're going to cover both, you can try both, or you can just stick to one if that's more comfortable."

Or you could decide not to do either and just get yourself into a snowball fight or make snow angels or snowmen, but Gladio wasn't going to just suggest that to you all, you had to come up with that all your own.

"So we'll go over some of the basics for each of them, and then you can just have at it."

There was an advent calendar of books on the desk that Belle would be examining soon.

Unfortunately there was something else that required her attention first. There were several computers in the library that had very suspicious marks on them this morning. Marks that could have only been made by...

"They bit them?" Belle asked the empty air. "Why in the world would the gremlins bite these? They'll have glass shards in their teeth! And they can't possibly taste good or even decent!:

Gremlins were a mystery and one that Belle would not be solving today.

“Hello, students!” Sam greeted them, precisely on time as always. “Today we shall discuss the 50th state in our great nation. Hawaii!”

“Currently Hawaii is the final state to join our union! Which is, of course, one of the weird things about it! Why did they wait so long?”

Sam. Sam. Colonizing is bad!

“Additionally Hawaii is very far from the rest of the country! Over two thousand miles away in fact. This is absurd. Why must they be located so far from the rest of us? Are they hiding something?”

They might be hiding from Sam, honestly.

“Did you know the state bird of Hawaii is the Hawaiian Goose and not the noble bald eagle? How dare they!”

Might have had something to do with how bald eagles lived other places. Maybe.

“And their attire!” Sam shuddered. “Those atrocious shirts! And skirts made of grass? Grass is not a textile! Clothing should be made of fabric! Just not the fabrics used on those…shirts.”

Somewhere, Steve McGarrett was feeling deeply offended without knowing why.

“Now, students, who would like to comment on Hawaii? Oh! I nearly forgot the over abundance of pineapples! A deeply weird fruit related neither to pine nor apple!”
