Ahhh, yes. It had been that weekend. The weekend that could only make a Shinigami trying to avoid his job feel nothing but twitchy, a weekend that made his Zanpakutō so loud he could barely hear anything else. The occasional fellow individual with a decidedly un-alive state of being that coexisted on the island with him wasn't an issue, but a whole influx of them that weren't really supposed to be there always felt like Hollow-bait to Shunsui, and even though he knew that wouldn't be an issue here, it still made him feel like he should be doing something about it, and that, clearly, would not stand.

Besides, there was always the chance that someone might show up for him, and, considering the possible candidates...Shunsui had been out of there the moment he felt the shift on Souls on the island, with no intention of returning until it was time for his class on Tuesday morning, with the confidence and reassurance that it had well passed by then.

And so there he was, having just arrived with enough time to make some tea and get settled in the usual spot under the tree by the duck pond, for his students to arrive, and when they did and also got settled, he met them with his usual lazy smile.

"Ohayo, my lovely scholars of laziness ♥," he greeted, "and welcome back to our second lesson ♥. Today, I'd like to talk about a very important tool for the Art of Laziness, and that is something we like to call delegation ♥. To delegate is to entrust another person with a task or mission or other such thing so that they may do it for you, thus opening the door for you to continue being lazy while these trusted individuals do all the hard work ♥. If you're lucky, you'll be able to find someone who actually rather enjoys doing the hard work, one who is motivated by accomplishment, as a nice counterbalance to one motivated by laziness, such as yourself. I must admit, I am currently doubly lucky in that respect, as my Lieutenant back home is an ambitious young woman who excels at taking on tasks with alacrity and precision, and my manager here on the island is very much the same ♥. There is rarely a task where I feel I don't trust them to accomplish it far better than I ever could ♥.

"And," here, he chuckled faintly into a sip of tea, "with that in mind, I will inform you that I have not actually made a lesson plan for today. In fact, I have decided to delegate that task to you all ♥. So, let me ask: what shall we do today? The assignment is entirely in your hands ♥."

Never let it be said that Shunsui did not excel in teaching certain topics best by leading by example, neh?

When Sam arrived for class today he'd found leftover fireworks in the room from last week.

This would have been, if irritating, if the fireworks had not gone off when he opened the door.

A slightly singed Sam shut the door behind him and hung a sign on it.

Cutter was rather subdued as he started class that week, he was rather glad that he’d gotten a head start on lesson plans during the break week because the last thing he had felt like doing after the weekend was working on class.

“Welcome back,” he said softly, “this week we’re going to be looking at the Inostrancevia , the Inostrancevia was a carnivorous therapsid that lived in the late Permian period,” he explained, “they lived in Eurasia and the fossils were first discovered in the Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia in the late nineteenth century,” he gave a small smile and nodded at Connor to continue the lecture.

Connor gave a small known nod and then turned to face the class as he spoke. He had feelings about this particular creature considering a past run-in during an anomaly incursion. But he tried to push that down and just focus on the class.

“Despite this appearance, Inostrancevia was not a dinosaur but rather a class of mammal-like reptiles that lived before most of the known dino species came into existence. Inostrancevia was approximately 10 feet long and weighed around 1,000 pounds. That made it about the size of an American alligator but almost twice its weight. It had a large skull which had large canines that could get as large as 5.9 inches (or about 15 cm). It was a successful hunter but was not successful enough to survive past the “Great Dying” extension event in the early Jurrasic.” Connor gave a small nod to Cutter as he finished up his part of the lecture

“So for the rest of the class I would like you to work on your worksheets,” Cutter nodded, “and as always if you need help myself and Mr. Temple will be available to answer any questions you may have,”

Today class was in the Danger Shop, and Isabela was missing in action. Because apparently she'd taken Shunsui's advice to heart and 'delegated' class prep to Aphra.

Which mean you could probably guess what it was time for.

Look, it'd been weeks since Aphra had last played it for you. Literal weeks.
