Good news, everyone! Instead of a bunch of gear and firewood to haul through the preserve that day, you'd all just find a note at the meeting spot letting you know that Gladio was already out at the campsite waiting for you. So all you needed to do this week was hike out there, and, once arrived, you'd find all the provisions and fire started and Gladio nodding in greeting as they all arrived.

"Glad to see you all presumably made it without getting eaten by any wildlife," he greeted with a grin. "Come on, gather around, have a seat, all that good stuff. Snacks and drinks in the coolers, so help yourself. I figured, last week, we talked about building fires and campfire snacks, and so this week might be a good one to cover campfire activities.

"Well," he laughed a little, "most campfire activities tend to just be a lot of talking, a little bit of winding down with your buddies after a long day of travel or hiking, hunting or fishing, or whatever else you're doing while out in the great outdoors. So, a lot of times, there's just campfire stories and campfire songs. Usually, at this point, it would be getting dark, and so scary stories are pretty popular, but there's others, as well. So, today, that's what we're focusing on. Just sharing stories or songs you may know from your own experiences with camping or other similar situations where you just sort of...enjoy company by the fire. You got some good stories or favorite songs? Share 'em with the class. And, if not, maybe you'll pick up a few.

"Barring that, there are games a lot of people play around a campfire, so we'll also have a stab at a nice, classroom-friendly one called I Went to Market, but I'll get into that a little more once everyone's settled."

"If we may be so bold as to traipse into another's hollowed territory," Summer said, as class began that day, with a nod of deference over to Raiden assuming he was there that week, "I would like to take a moment to discuss few pizza crimes of the last century."

“Summer,” Stark sighed. “Why?” Raiden, Stark was very sorry about this. Everyone else, Stark was still sorry but slightly less sorry in your directions than in Raiden’s.

"We're talking well beyond the great Pineapple debate, or pizzas without cheese or if Chicago deep dish is actually a casserole," Summer continued. "We're talking pizza with beans'--LOTTA beans this semester, apparently!--"and tuna and pear."

“Why is there a debate about pineapple? Pineapple is good. These two do not sound good.”

"Sounds can be misleading!" Summer chirped happily. "Don't knock it until you try it, right? Which we're going to do. Right now. Today. And, of course, discuss."

Because they had to put up the pretenses that there was some educational value to these classes and that they weren't just an excuse to torture people with weird ass food.

“If you have any better ideas for pizzas, please share them,” Stark said, giving the students a pleading look. “Or ways to make these two more…acceptable?”

"Right, well." Jon squinted at the page on his phone marked GOSSIP.

"Apparently Manchester United want to sign striker Harry Kane and midfielders Declan Rice and Mason Mount."

He paused awkwardly. "I have no idea why that's gossip. When...erm...Maybe we can discuss when gossip becomes news. Or why anyone is called a striker in a game with no use of hands. Or unions, come to that. Or...well, in the other direction, there are strikes going on, and perhaps those are occasionally as much gossip as news?"

Look, just talk about something; Jon will make it work. Somehow.

"So this planet learned to fly about a hundred years ago, maybe a hundred and change," Atton said.

He patted the plane next to him. It wobbled.

"This baby made it a whole 12 seconds on the first try," he said cheerfully. "The max they got out of it was 59. Let's see if you can do better."

Jo wasn’t sure what to expect when she turned up the library for her shift after last week’s mishaps with the books but on closer inspection, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary so she settled in for a relatively easy shift and she was able to have a much easier time reshelving than she did last week.
