Gladio may have had a bit of a later night than he was used to, but that didn't mean he wasn't just as ready to go for class as usual. Last week's difficulty with the danger shop, however, did convince him to keep it to the gym today, though, which meant a relatively simple lesson that the students could still have fun with, and it involved setting up a net and tossing a ball that, if recognized, would give up the game before he got a chance to explain.

"Volleyball," he announced. "Pretty fun game that's easily adapted to just four people, and that's what we're going to be learning about today. It's basically a game where the goal is to try and keep the ball off the ground when it's on your side of the net, and to prevent the players on the other side of the net from keeping it in the air when its on theirs, usually through a variety of different hits and moves, which we'll go over. And the preferred method of this game is usually played out on a beach in the soft sand, so doing anything necessary, like dives or lunges, to keep the ball from hitting the ground are part of what make the game exciting. We're not using soft sand, though, so we've got some knee and elbow pads to help with that. Because, obviously, I'm going to encourage you guys to go all out. But before we do that, we should probably go over how the game is played to begin with..."

Was there a script yet? Again... no. But there was an assortment of makeup and wigs for the class to look over. Not from the lost and found, thankfully.

"How can one convince the audience you are who you claim to be on stage without putting in the work?" Jaskier asked.

If Cara knew the answer to that, she would never have had to pretend to be a pretty, pretty princess. "People have expectations that certain kinds of people look a certain way. Unfortunately."

"But, since these are your characters, we feel you should have full creative input to craft them." God, he was so That Director.

And Cara was no help at all here. "Have fun."

“Last week, we looked at the Cambrian Explosion and the impact that the explosion of diversity had on early evolution for the animal kingdom and now we’re going to look at the opposite end and look at what was responsible for the end of the Cambrian Explosion,” Cutter began that week’s lecture as he began to hand usual his stack of notes.

“At the end of the Cambrian Explosion, there was a mass extinction event that became the largest mass extinction that the Earth has ever known, this occurred at the end of the Permian Period and was responsible for wiping out 90 percent of life at the time,”

“The Permian Extinction was responsible for wiping out 95 percent of marine species and 70 percent of terrestrial species,” he continued, “and this is where the trilobites from last week come in since this is where they met their end,”

“To give an idea of just how long the trilobites did last, the Cambrian Explosion took place roughly 538 million years ago and the Permian Extinction Event happened roughly between 299 million to 252 million years ago, so Trilobites lived for nearly 300 million years,”

“While it was mostly marine invertebrates that were wiped out, the Permian Extinction also saw aquatic vertebrates, including the acanthodian, which are believed to be the earliest jawed fishes were wiped out,”

“In terms of the Terrestrial species that were wiped out these include the pelycosaurs and Moschops and there were also numerous insect families that were lost at this time,”

“It is believed that causes for the Permian Extinction were due to the nutrient cycle being disrupted by biological and physical causes and this includes changes in the temperate and changes to the carbon cycle,”

“For next week, I’d like you work on a report on one of the species that were lost in the Permian Extinction,”

There were leprechauns in the library today, which Jo found rather different but she figured it was St. Patrick’s today so that it did make sense in a way but she wasn’t sure why they would actually be in the library.

The books were still green as well so the library was all decked out for the holiday, so Jo did her best to put away the books she needed to reshelve, which proved to be rather difficult because the leprechauns seemed to want to try and help her so that was proving to be a rather interesting experience.
