"So there's at least one more type of photography I wanted to go over with you guys," Prompto said to get class started that week, stifling maybe just a little bit of a yawn, "but I kind of want to wait for the weather to be a little warmer before do that. So, what we're probably going to focus on for the next few weeks on different types of careers you make as a photographer. Now, obviously, doing professional portraits and event photography is the obvious one--even I've got a little freelance side hustle, which ends up being mostly weddings and Christmas cards--but honestly? These days? Most of my work is, sadly, going to
stock photography.

"Basically, the whole point of stock photography is to provide images for general use that people can tap into for various different licensed projects and things like that. Basically, they're photos that people can pay a licensing fee for to use for...whatever, really. Not exactly the most artistically exciting field of photography, but having a solid stock photo portfolio could be a solid way to put some money in your pocket."

"Which means...sorry, guys, I'm going to be going into some of the stock photography business model and how it works, but we'll also look at some examples of popular stock photo types so you can get an idea of what most people are likely to look for, but also some more niche fields that could maybe use a little more love, and finally, to make it all up to you, I've got a great set of some of the weirdest stock photos out there, too. But that's the beauty of stock photography, I guess. There's something out there for pretty much everything, and if there isn't? You've got a golden opportunity, my friends.

"And just to give you an idea on how random the stock photo business is, my most popular stock images right now are this one I took on my honeymoon, a photo of a camera, and this one of Ignis looking confused at a computer..."

There was a pause.

"Pictures of people looking confused at a computer are really big, actually. But, anyway, let's get started..."

Everyone's pottery from last week had dried into various shapes that were hopefully what they had envisioned. "Today we paint and glaze!" Steve said with too much enthusiasm.
"Now, there are apparently a number of different ways to do this, but right now we'll stick with the basics," Tony said. "A good mix of colors for you to work with and some clear glazes if that's what you're looking for."

Steve nodded along. "This is a basic class intended for fun," he agreed. "If you discover you really like one of the media we explore, there's a lot more to dive into afterwards."

"Exactly! We'll let you decide on the medium for future projects once we work through them all." Oh no, it would only end in a hodgepodge of crafts.

"We can even do a few at the same time," Steve said. "It's called mixed media."

Or a hodgepodge, but fancy.

"So! Let's get to painting, shall we?" Tony said.

Jon rushed in just in time and nodded to the students. "My apologies. There was an, um... Never mind. I brought a movie. About tea."

Maybe it would be less likely to put the students to sleep than Jon was.
