"Last week," said Summer, with a nod, and doing her best to act like she didn't currently have a koala clinging to her at the moment. The Danger Shop itself was not quite the usual classroom, and looked a little bit more like the usual classroom and a clinic had some kind of room-baby, with some desks for them to sit in during the lecture, but some medical tables and paraphernalia scattered around everywhere, too, "we talked about taking care of our bodies on a hygiene level, and this week, we're going to talk about taking care of them on a health level. Specifically," she leaned back almost deftly, expertly, as a koala paw made a reach for her ponytail and, having missed that, reached onto a conveniently located IV pole and, seeing an opportunity, Summer happily urged the koala to cling onto that for a little while so that she could be free for at least a few minutes, "first aid. Now, I'm not a doctor, but, thankfully, there is someone on the island who is, and so I'm going to hand this one over to Dr. Halstead, who runs the clinic here on the island. Doctor?"

Will, who had been watching Summer deal with koala-Stark with a bemused expression, turned his attention to the class. "I suppose I ought to preface this by saying my medical knowledge is human-specific. In practice, so far I've found the skills regarding the basics are pretty transferable, though. Also, obviously, we’re assuming professional medical help isn’t an option."

"So, first things first: you're there to help, not make things worse, so you're going to need to assess the situation. For example, if someone's been stabbed or impaled, your first instinct is usually to remove the sharp object. But in most cases, this can actually make things worse, as whatever's lodged in there is currently stopping the injured party from bleeding out completely. Or if they've got a head or neck injury, moving them may exacerbate said injury," Will explained. He then went through how to properly assess an accident scene and injury."

Summer nodded a long, subtly moving away from the koala for now, with a great appreciation for the fact that Will came out swinging with the stabbing wound. Respect.

"Once you've figured out what kind of injury you're dealing with, then you can go ahead and give first aid. If they're not breathing, the most important thing you can do is CPR to get them breathing again," he went through the steps on a CPR dummy.

"For something like a stab wound- as I said, if there's something in there, keep it there. Next, you're going to want to apply pressure to the wound and dress it if possible to staunch the bleeding. If possible, elevate the wound, but being able to apply consistent pressure is more important, so if it's a choice between the two, go with whatever position allows you to keep applying pressure."

He went through a few other first aid basics, including setting broken bones, as well as cleaning and dressing wounds when one had access to proper first aid supplies.

"And if you've got any questions, I'm here to answer them."

The Danger Shop was quite a bit different, this week, the most noteable differences being that the room, while still somewhat blank and non-descript, was incredibly brightly lit, perhaps jarringly so, with the way the class was used to it being so cloaked in darkness, and the fact that Ignis was not alone in waiting for them. Looming over even Ignis' substantial height, Gladio stood slightly behind, with a faint grin on his face and his arms folded over his chest, as everyone arrived.

"Everyone," Ignis nodded, starting as the alarm on his watch alerted him to the precise time to begin class, "this is Gladiolus Amicita, a good friend of mine and currently the phys ed teacher here at the school. Since we have mostly finished our unit working with visual deprivation, I've invited him to come assist the class in our next focus, since he is far better equipped for it than I am, and that is audio."

"Which means," Gladio offered the class with a snort and a grin, "at least you won't have to listen to me yammering on too much, right? For our first run, things are going to be pretty simple. Once I've done explaining and you've had the chance to ask any questions, we're going to cut off all sound in the room. I've tried it before, it's really eerie how effective it can be, and it definitely takes some getting used to. You wouldn't think sound plays that much into what we notice, but you might be surprised. So, just to get used to it, we've got a course set up with a few moving targets and obstacles, and your task is going to be to find all the targets and hit them before they have a chance to find and hit you. You can see them, but you won't be able to hear them. Or anything else, for that matter."

"There will be," Ignis offered, "red buttons scattered around the course, so that if there is an emergency, you can press one and the sound will trigger back on. Unless that happens, I leave you in Mr. Amicitia's skillful hands, as I won't be much use once the sound cuts out."

"In other words," Gladio said, throwing the students a wink, "it'll be a good time to take him out. Alright, let's get this course up and go over it once again, and then we'll set you off to see how it feels."

"So today, we are going to be making use of the Danger Shop," Dwight said as he started the class that morning. "We will be learning a bit about hypothermia, what causes it, and how to avoid and treat it when it does happen. Essentially hypothermia is a condition when the body is too cold, and certain systems start to shut down. If its minimal changes to blood flow that might not be too bad, and you will get cold hands and feet. But as it gets worse, it can actually damage parts of the body, and you can develop frostbite. If the body continues to get too cold, you stand a high chance of freezing to death as the heart, lungs, nervous system, and even the brain begins to shut down. So let's see what can be done to help prevent and treat hypothermia," Dwight said as he turned to the TV to queue up the quick video.

Hello, dance students! Kitty was waiting in the dance studio when everyone arrived, all suited up like a real dancer and everything.

"Today's pretty simple," she said. "We're going to do some warmups, and then Im going to have you follow me in a routine, putting together some of what you've learned so far. So unless anyone got questions, let's stretch out."
