Hyrule History and Legends!; Friday, Second Period [10/07].

"Good morning, everyone!" Sidon greeted the class with his usual cheer, a toothy grin of excitement for the lesson ahead of them. "I know you're all probably quite excited for the school trip next week, but I hope you'll at least indulge me in one more Great Lesson of Hyrule before you shift entirely into vacation mode, because today, we are going to be learning all about the Sheikah tribe!

"So that," Sidon concluded proudly, "is the rundown of the Sheikah Tribe and a brief look into their history and their troubles. If you ask me, their position in the greater population of Hyrule is a rather intriguing one, isn't it? To possess the power and technology to save the world, only to have that technology then feared by others, and shunned, to the point of exile!, because of it! And then, once that technology is needed once more, to have to turn against you and threaten the world to ruin! And what of the Yiga Clan? What might drive a person to choose to side with the Darkness, instead of the Light? Are they misguided, or do they simply see things differently? I would be delighted to hear your thoughts, should you have any, and, of course, to answer any other questions you may have regarding the Sheikah and their history and place in Hyrule!"

The Adventuring Life, Friday - 3rd Period

"Before leaving on an adventure, such as the one we shall undertake tomorrow, there are several things one should do," Yennefer told the class. "More here than in our world, I should think. For example, did you know you should clean out your refrigerator before leaving for an extended period of time?" She looked and sounded like she was still a little shell-shocked about it.
"...oh, that explains some things," Jaskier admitted. "They do, however, make these very handy packing lists to make certain you have your essentials. Like a toothbrush."

Yennefer examined the list for a moment and then pronounced, "Shit," and started to walk out of the classroom before catching herself. "The internet also produces helpful checklists of things you should do before leaving on vacation. Many of them won't apply to you because...you're children, but I advise you to examine the list and consider if there's anything you should attend to. Perhaps you have a pet or plant you should make arrangements for, or you should check that you're packed for the weather." Because that was an option they had, unlike in her and Jaskier's world.

"Oh, just pack layers. You'll be fine." You would not be fine. Sorry, kids. Jaskier had bad advice.

"Perhaps a nice cloak," Yennefer suggested, like it wasn't 2022. "Are there any questions?"

Class today had been advised to meet in the Danger Shop and wear sturdy clothing. When they arrived and walked in, they would find themselves on a wide plasteel porch beyond which was a garden. The plants in it probably looked a little odd to Earth-born students, but some were clearly planted in rows, while others grew wild. The scene was overcast.

"Today I thought we'd engage in a popular Sith pastime," Lana said. "Gardening. Some people are surprised to find how engaging Sith find this practice, but honestly, it involves destroying weeds and pests, wrestling your plants under control, and getting things to look precisely how you want them."

She had a feeling Nell might object to the Sith approach to gardening. She hadn't even bothered to ask if they could help with her greenhouse.

"It also, at least on Dromund Kaas, involves actively fighting the planet itself." She gestured past the garden to the jungle around them. "Occasionally literally. Gardening on the Sith homeworld is an act of defiance. I haven't programmed any hostile wildlife in today, though. If you'd like it, let me know. I also haven't programmed in the incessant rain and lightning. You're welcome."

She opened a crate at the edge of the porch. "We've got tools here, and holos of the plants you want to keep and the beneficial insects. Anything else, get rid of. If a plant has bad leaves or sections, prune it. Let's see how much of our aggression we can channel productively, and how much of an insight this gives you into Sith philosophy."

Jo was looking forward to the school trip next week, she had been to France a couple of times in the last few years with her parents but she had never been as part of a school trip.

Even though she wished she had paid better attention in her French lessons at Malory Towers, her French was not very good, so after she had put away the books that she needed to, she decided to sit down at the front desk and go over some French language guides that she had found and thought it would be helpful to review.
