Nothing quite like getting out of that summer heat by walking right into....more heat! Plenty of water available to everyone today, that was for sure, because they were probably going to need it. But Amaya, fairly unbotherewd by it and mostly just kind of in her element right now, was just going to get right into it today, because there was a lot to cover and a lot of work to be done.

Cut for....well, cutting. )

"And that," she concluded, "is the basics for cutting, so I'll leave it to you guys to start getting a feel for it. As always, if there's questions, ask 'em now, but otherwise, let's get two of you on up there to get to work on the anvils and the rest of can either watch and learn or give the saws a try in the meantime."

Another week, another day in the Arena, this time set up with a multitude of various structures and obstacles of a boxy and moddable nature spread throughout, with two tall turrets at one end with a large mounted gun on each of them.

"Today's event," Rosa explained, "is Assault, the game of Hit or Be Hit. On top of each of the turrets, you'll see a target. Your goal is to hit those targets; there are various moddable projectile weapons," things like crossbows, rocket launchers, hand grenades, a glitter stick that just shot glitter and that was it, "scattered throughout the course for you to find, but while you're trying to get to them, two of your fellow Gladiators -- that'll be me and Annie for winning last week's game -- will be shooting tennis balls out of air cannons at you. Also, this was originally a one-on-one game, but that's not as much," chaos, "fun. We're doing a free-for-all, so you could very well experience a ground assault from your fellow players as well, and we've definitely made the arena larger and with more obstacles to compensate for that, too.

"Whoever gets the most targets by the end of class wins. Simple, right? Annie, get your gun. Everyone else, find a spot on the opposite side and wait for my mark to begin."

"It is time to name the band!" Jaskier proclaimed. Because that was clearly the next important step, right?

Weren't you all thrilled?

You should be, because your teachers had such fun plans for today. Cara held up a vaguely clinking bag. "We're going to do this according to science apparently."

"Because we know such things can be... contentious, shall we say? This will make it easier on you all," Jaskier assured them.

Would it? Would it, really?

At the very least it would make things more amusing for Cara and Jaskier, and in the end wasn't that what mattered most?

"Apparently according to science everything can be boiled down to a band name or an album name." Cara tossed everyone a coin from the bag. "So you're going to use these to mark your immediate reaction to your bandmates' suggestions until we reach a consensus." Or fists started flying, she wasn't picky.

"And it'll be a majority sort of thing," Jaskier said. "But a little conflict is good for a band, like... Fleetwood Mac. But not like Oasis. Bad conflict there."

Look, Jaskier got deep into band gossip here.

That made one of them.

This week Goose had been a lot more prepared for classes and had actually written a lot more detailed lesson plan than before and had also spent more time making sure he had all the necessary components needed for the tutorial as well.

“So this week we’re going to be looking at making a Paper Shredder Machine,” he explained once class was ready to go that afternoon, “which is I find to be good example of electromechanical, engineering,” he added as he started to give a brief overview of what electromechanical engineering was before he turned the focus on the rest of the class on making the paper shredders.
