"Morning, everyone," said Amaya, nodding to the class as they gathered in the shop and half-wondering if she was going to start having to move things over to the danger shop, just to have enough resources for everyone to work, but she was still a staunch believer that this was clearly preferable and, besides, she still didn't know how that would work out when the whole point was to have something solid and concrete to take with you at the end of class and if everything in the danger shop was just holographic...

...she was definitely trying not to think about it too much, because ow.

Cut for Blacksmith Babble )

"Any questions? I'd like to go ahead and get the new people started on the anvil first, since those of you in the first session have a bit more of an idea of what we're working with here, and we'll go from there."

Yoga had been surprisingly great, but maybe a little too chill for Rosa to want to keep up consistently. The beastly savagery demanded a return, and so she found herself, once again, back in the ridiculously stupid Fandom Gladiators mod here in the Danger Shop, and loving every second of it.

"Well, everyone," she started, "congratulations on being in the coolest class available in the summer," yes, cooler even than Paintball, she knew that was a bold claim, but she was going to stand by that, dammit, "Fandom Gladiators, where weekly, you'll be put to the test in a series of physical challenges to see who comes out on top...or at least sucks less than the others. My name is...not important, because when we're in the arena, we will only be known by our gladiator names. Mine is Exterminator. I have lived up to that name through many, many Fandom Gladiator classes in the past. So, you're all going to pick your own gladiator name...or get assigned one by me, which you do not want. Trust me on that. You want something cool and intimidating, like Hawk or Nitro or Storm. Bonus points if you put together a backstory or gimmick, but choose wisely, because once you pick your gladiator name, you're going to be stuck with it.

"Then? We're going to suit up," she gestured toward the collection of foam pads and helmets, "because even though this is the Danger Shop so no one will really get hurt, it's part of the traditional Gladiator uniform. And if you were an idiot and didn't wear clothes you can move easily in, don't worry. We have you covered with some clearly very flattering gym uniforms.

"And once that's out of the way," Rosa finished, "get ready, because we're doing Human Cannonball. Not as cool as it sounds, but you still get to run into people, so still pretty cool. I'll explain more when we're finished suiting up and naming ourselves. You." She quirked her chin up at the quintessential nearest random person. "You go first."

"Welcome, welcome, welcome," Jaskier proclaimed loud enough to possibly make up for the other teacher's lack of enthusiasm. "To how to form a band. We're so very thrilled to have you all!"

Right, Cara?

"I can't think of any class I'd rather run," Cara said, dry as the desert.

He followed Geralt around for years, it didn't even phase Jaskier. Which was why he was already moving onto the point before he got jabbed in the ribs or something like that. "We'll start out easily enough with what instruments you play or what talent you bring to the table here. Even if it's just glowering in a very attractive way."

"I'm also very good at hitting people." No need to sound so cheerful about that, Cara. "You'd be surprised how useful that is when dealing with musicians."

"And vendors," Jaskier had to admit.

"And audiences." Cara maybe tended to go with violence as a solution to most problems.

All of the patriotic displays of last week had been cleared away before Belle arrived at the library this week. There were no signs of gremlins either. Things were quiet.

They were quiet until the beeping started. Belle wasn't sure where it was coming from but it was a steady beeping sound. It paused occasionally but then started up again.

Eventually she gave up looking and just decided to try and ignore it while she read instead.

It took Goose a while to remember that he had a class later in the day this session but he did in fact remember when his class was and turned up on time.

“Welcome to A Guide to Mechanical Engineering,” Goose nodded to the class, “I thought for our first class we would start with introductions and then for our first practical we will work on making a Coil Winding Machine, to start getting a feel for machines and it’s a good introduction to automation,” Goose explained.

“So I’m Shane Gooseman, most people call me Goose,” he said, “however it is fine if you would rather call me Shane or Mr. Gooseman instead,” he paused, “I’m from West Australia, 2107 and I serve with the Series 5 Galaxy Rangers where I do a lot of engineering work for the team,”

Mostly because he had damaged the machines in the first place and that’s why they needed fixing but he wasn’t going to mention that fact.
