"'Morning, every--" Amaya started her greeting, pretty standard, with a wave of her hand, but that hand soon curled up into a fist by her mouth to poorly cover the long yawn that interrupted her. The very long yawn that lasted probably a good minute before she finally managed to shake it off and blink a little wearily. "Oh! Forgive me. This week's been...a little rough..."

You'd think even spending a Handwavey Day at some big amusement part would have helped her finally get some shut-eye around here, but all it did was make her more tired and exhausted on top of it. But the class must go on, and so she was determined (even as another, this time smaller yawn snuck in between sentences) to continue.

"Anyway," she nodded, "glad you found the place. If you haven't been here already, welcome to Blackstone Foundry and Forge, Fandom Island's very own traditional blacksmith shop. And I'm the blacksmith, Amaya Blackstone, which some of you already know. And I hope you all know that you're hear to learn about blacksmithing. There's a lot of ground to cover there, so..."

She trailed off again, fighting another yawn; this time, she was able to claim victory over it, and, breathing out, continued. "Let's get right to it."

Amaya Blackstone talks about Blacksmithing, aka Please to Enjoy this Novel about Blacksmithing. )

"Or just look around the shop, ask me any questions if you've got them, or get to know each other a little better. We'll be working pretty closely together these next few weeks, so it'll definitely be a benefit if you can get..." Her breath sucked in as she tried to hold back yet another yawn. "...if you can get..." She was holding it, fighting it, struggling against it. "...if you get..."

Aaaaaand she lost, a yawn even bigger and more dramatic than the first one wringing itself out of her and ending with a big sound and tired, so very tied, sigh, and a shake of her head.

"I should have made more coffee," she muttered, not nearly as much to herself as she thought she had.

But...the Forge was yours, students! Please don't fall asleep holding onto any incredibly hot bits of metal.

Everyone in the class should have been told that, weather permitting, they'd be meeting at the beach each week (and the community center otherwise), so if they weren't there when class begun....oh, well. Rosa was definitely thinking she'd be 100% fine if everyone just didn't show up or wound up on the wrong beach, and she'd just spend the period going through her own forms without anyone bothering her, and, actually, could they just do that instead?

But, no, people did presumably show up, so Rosa sighed and supposed she did still have to, ugh, teach.

"Alright," she said, "I'm assuming you're all here for yoga. This is meant to be kind of a basics class for people of all abilities and experience levels, so if you're already pretty familiar with yoga, you should already know that even the simple stuff can still be helpful and beneficial, and if you're new, nothing should be so challenging that you can't wing at least a simplified version of the movements.

"So....what is yoga? I could go into some long, detailed lecture like some people," s'up, Blackstone?, "but I'm not going to. If you're really interested in the history and all that crap, there's a library and the internet. We're mostly going to be focusing on how yoga can be used to both relax and calm a person," suggesting that, yes, this was Rosa relaxed and calm from yoga; imagine how she'd be without it, "as well as stretch and tone and strengthen your body. It's a whole...wellness of mind and body equilibrium hippy-dippy bullshit, but, it works, so...."

She shrugged, like it couldn't be helped that even granola-crunching, chakra-enlightening hippies could still be right about some things.

"Anyway," she said. "We're going to just get started simply today by going over some of the basic forms you'll likely be using a lot in this class. Most classes will be just me teaching you a technique or sequence, and then spending the rest of the period practicing it and not talking and just focusing on what you're doing, which means it's one of the most perfect class concepts ever created. So, follow me through the twelve basic forms we'll go over today, and then we'll see how you are on your form or if you have any questions, and then you'll just work on them. That's it.

"It's yoga. It doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, I feel like that defeats the whole point."

Unlike many classes this summer, they were back in the danger shop. But there was nary a tavern in sight for a change! Instead, it was a race track with a number of go-karts at the ready for class to start out using.

Surely nothing could go wrong here, right?

"Welcome! Welcome all!" Jaskier greeted cheerfully. "Welcome to... what was this class called again?"

"Something about driving." This was the kind of class that happened when Cara turned her phone off for a week to avoid Jakier's messages. "And us teaching them."

"Oh. Ohhh." Jaskier made a very worried face as he looked at the go-karts more closely. "Do you know how to drive one of those?"

Because he sure didn't!

"It can't be that hard, people on the mainland do it all the time." Congratulations, everyone, you were signed up to a driving class with teachers whose worlds hadn't even invented the steam engine yet, let alone the internal combustion one.

Jaskier nodded and clapped his hands together. "Alright then. Let's all grab a go-kart and... then you can share your names and what you hope to learn. So that we can... add it to the list of lessons." That they definitely had. Yep.

They certainly weren't going to start watching movies for ideas. Cara pointed to a random person. "You first."
