Photography; Thursday, First Period [03/24].
Thursday, March 24th, 2022 05:30 amStifling maybe just a little bit of a yawn from a late night out, Prompto still had a grin on his face as class got started, especially since, well, the nice thing about this class was that it definitely found a certain rhythm, a particular stride, so the structure was pretty easy and predictable, it was just the details that tended to shift around a little.
"Alright, guys!" he said. "You know the drill. Let's have a look at some of your commercial-style photography before we move onto the next side of photography we'll be looking at today, and let's see what we all end up totally wanting to spend all our money on by the end of it, yeah? Then we'll dive into this week's topic. Who's up first?"
And once everyone who'd wanted to share had finished up, he grinned again with an encouraging, "Great stuff this week, guys! I think you're really starting to get the hang of some of this stuff, and I can tell some of you are having fun with it, too. We're going to spend just a little bit more time on some of the more commercial sort of photography this week before we get into some of the more...we'll say visceral and intellectual stuff a little later toward the end of the semester, which means we're going to sort of follow this commercial train right into stock photography, which is basically providing images for general use that people can tap into for various different licenced projects and things like that. Basically, they're photos that people can pay a licencing fee for to use for...whatever, really. Not exactly the most artistically exciting field of photography, but having a solid stock photo portfolio could be a solid way to put some money in your pocket."
"Which means...sorry, guys, I'm going to be going into some of the stock photography business model and how it works, but we'll also look at some examples of popular stock photo types so you can get an idea of what most people are likely to look for, but also some more niche fields that could maybe use a little more love, and finally, to make it all up to you, I've got a great set of some of the weirdest stock photosgolden opportunity, my friends.
"With that said....let's get started..."
