hashtag_chocobro: (and that's how it's done)

Stifling maybe just a little bit of a yawn from a late night out, Prompto still had a grin on his face as class got started, especially since, well, the nice thing about this class was that it definitely found a certain rhythm, a particular stride, so the structure was pretty easy and predictable, it was just the details that tended to shift around a little.

"Alright, guys!" he said. "You know the drill. Let's have a look at some of your commercial-style photography before we move onto the next side of photography we'll be looking at today, and let's see what we all end up totally wanting to spend all our money on by the end of it, yeah? Then we'll dive into this week's topic. Who's up first?"

And once everyone who'd wanted to share had finished up, he grinned again with an encouraging, "Great stuff this week, guys! I think you're really starting to get the hang of some of this stuff, and I can tell some of you are having fun with it, too. We're going to spend just a little bit more time on some of the more commercial sort of photography this week before we get into some of the more...we'll say visceral and intellectual stuff a little later toward the end of the semester, which means we're going to sort of follow this commercial train right into stock photography, which is basically providing images for general use that people can tap into for various different licenced projects and things like that. Basically, they're photos that people can pay a licencing fee for to use for...whatever, really. Not exactly the most artistically exciting field of photography, but having a solid stock photo portfolio could be a solid way to put some money in your pocket."

"Which means...sorry, guys, I'm going to be going into some of the stock photography business model and how it works, but we'll also look at some examples of popular stock photo types so you can get an idea of what most people are likely to look for, but also some more niche fields that could maybe use a little more love, and finally, to make it all up to you, I've got a great set of some of the weirdest stock photosgolden opportunity, my friends.

"With that said....let's get started..."

Well, Gladio had been kind of putting off this particular lesson for a while now, and figured today was just as good as any to get it done and over with. So, sure, while they were on an island and there were plenty of spots to go fishing IRL, that would be actual fishing, which was usually boring as hell, and they'd wind up spending probably more than half the class just hoping for a nibble. So they were definitely going to be in the danger shop instead, at a nice scenic fishing spot where he could actually program the fish to be more willing to be enticed and active.

"Fishing!" he announced, gesturing toward the poles neatly lined up and ready to go for them once they really got started. "An incredibly useful wilderness survival skill that some people," who shall remain nameless, "actually turn into a hobby because...hey, everyone's got to have hobbies, right? Anyway, today, we're going to be talking about the fine art of fishing, how to do it, what kind of gear you need, and even more important, some rudimentary ways of fishing without a lot of fancy gear, because if it comes down to survival, there's a good chance you're not going to be toting around a tackle box and a rod.

"So let's get to it, and then let's get fishing."

Both your teachers were back this week. Yay. Although the Danger Shop did not look like the familiar inn, instead being suspiciously full of garishly bright, oversized, foam trees, the branches of which you were standing on, and a very suspicious pile of clothing.

Probably nothing to worry about.

"So, we have some, ah, ideas about how to spice things up in class," Jaskier said, glancing over at Cara. "That you'll just love."

OR SOMETHING.

"It's important to be able to cope with the unexpected-" Like turning into a fucking chipmunk for a week and a half. Again. "-and still be able to put up a fight. So suit up."

"It'll be fine," Jaskier assured the class oh so incorrectly.

Because there was a terrifying obstacle course set up.

A terrifying obstacle course where giant rum soaked squirrels would fling giant foam acorns at them as they tried to navigate.

Someone might have been working through some issues.
