At this point, Shunsui had, alas, resigned himself to the fact that he was likely to be saddled with the earliest class possible, so he'd decided to merely accept that as ironic poetry of its own, and remind himself that dragging himself out at what he firmly felt was a truly ungodly hour was still better than having to deal with the Seireitei and the Gotei 13 on a regular basis.

So he was there with his sleepy smile and his classroom with the chairs and desks all pushed aside to make way for more comfortable cushions, a small low table at the center of the ring with a pot of tea and a few cupsr ready to go for his tiny little class, determined to prove that absolutely nothing that happened outside of a bed before noon on a Monday should be even remotely strenuous or taxing.

"Ahhhhh, poetry ♥," he started, once the students had settled. "Hopefully, that is why you've gathered here today, but if not, well, the more, the merrier, stay a while and have some tea while we talk about painting pictures with our words ♥. On a technical level, poetry is a form of writing that quite often relies on a certain lyricism, sometimes bound by patterns or beats and expectations of a certain form, but not always. Poems can be about nature, about love, about passion; it can also be about history, about events, a form used to spread tales between people back before we had the letters with which to write them down. Poetry is a great many things, ducklings, and in this class, we will explore those things ♥."

He took a sip from his tea before continuing.

"But today," he ventured, "I would simply like to explore what poetry means to you ♥. It is, after all, the first class of a new semester, a time for introductions and getting to know each other in the context of where our education will lead us ♥. And so tell me, ducklings: what do you think poetry is? Do you have a favorite poem, or perhaps poet ♥? Do you write poetry yourself or do you merely enjoy it as a spectator and appreciator of the arts? Share whatever you'd like; we have no other goals for today but to share an appreciation for this mercurial beast we shall discover through the next few months ♥."

Yennefer swanned into the Danger Shop fashionably late, announcing as she walked, "Right, then. I am Yennefer of Vengerberg and this is Guiding the Powerful, Yet Incompetent." She paused and looked around, observed, "Small class," and went on. "In life, you cannot, unfortunately, always be in charge of everything, and sometimes the people who are in charge are going to be mind-blowingly stupid...and for whatever reason, you can't just kill them." She was disappointed about it, too. "So you're going to have to learn to manage them. That is what this class is for.

"We will begin with the customary introductions. Name and why you think this class will be useful to you, please, and then since that won't take very long we'll try a little thought exercise. Well?" she asked one of her two students at random. "Who are you?"

The Danger Shop today was made out to be a giant warehouse of supplies with a workstation for everyone. And there was Kitty, greeting them with, "Hello and welcome to Mythbusting! I'm Kitty Pryde-Barton, and we're going to be doing some science. We're going to take some popular myths and see whether or not they're true. Some of them will be small, and since we're in the Danger Shop where no one can get hurt, some will be ridiculous.

"But we're going to start off easy with introductions, and then I want you to wander around and familiarize yourself with what we have and where it all is. So tell me your name and if there are any experiments that spring to mind to try this semester."

Considering one of the faces in this class this could be interesting for her.

When students arrived today, they would find that Ghanima had removed all desks and chairs from her classroom. Instead, the space was filled with large piles of pillows, some divans, and various cushioned footstools. Ghanima disapproved of sterile classrooms, thank you very much, and both she and the students tended to be more comfortable this way.

Once the last of them had arrived, her face lit up with a smile.

"Well now," she said, her voice carrying effortlessly. "It seems I have both new and familiar faces!"

Ghanima was not sure if it was a mark of approval in her choice in subject matter, or if her students were simply masochists.

She was not ruling out either option.
