Anyone in the class (which she was pretty sure was most of the class) who already had a basic understanding of math would probably be able to guess what they were getting themselves into based on the figures that were on the board when they came in that morning, but, just in case anyone needed the help, Rosa was there to explain.

"Today," she informed them, "we're doing geometry. Shapes and shit. I think it's supposed to be applicable to the things we see in every day life, but I don't think I know a single person who might actually use any of this in real life, safe for some real nerds."

Although, to be fair, she did know a lot of nerves.

"So today, we're going a break down of the the different shapes and their properies as well as equations to figure out incredibly useful things like the perimeter of a triangle or the theorum of some dude who's been dead for thousands of years that you'll definitely use in real life all the time, so pay attention because I really only want to do this once."

And so she set off to do just that, in quite possibly the world's most sarcastic lecture about geometry to ever exist, that will be entirely handwaved because there's no way a certain someone is actually writing a lecture about geometry before four o'clock in the morning.

And not even after.

And that was that.

"Before you go," Rosa added, as she set down the chalk on (thank God) the last of it and turned back to the students, "be sure to pick up your homework, to be done outside of class so if you need help, you can ask the Internet instead of me."

She hesitated a moment, dreading if there was an actual response to this next part: "Any questions before we go?"

"It has occurred to us," after two weeks, "that before we taught you about the TikTok we should have taught you how to use the device that contains the TikTok," Yennefer said. She held up her Stark Phone. "This is called a 'cell phone.'" She pronounced those two words very slowly and carefully.

"It is an amazing bit of technology," Jaskier added brightly. "Almost better than indoor plumbing!"

Yennefer wouldn't go that far. "It can also be an amazing waste of time. I am told that the main purpose of this device is to enable one to speak across great distances to someone else." Where she was from they had spells for that. "However, thanks to 'apps,' which I do not even begin to know how to begin, you can do so much more than that. You can make TikToks. You can take still images of things to look at later, called 'photos.' You can waste many hours of your time on a game with cartoon birds with no idea where the time went."

"What level did you get to?" That was hardly the point, Jaskier.

"I don't want to talk about it," because it was embarrassing. "Now, to use your 'cell phone,' you must keep it charged, via a cable which plugs into the wall or via one of those magic devices you just set it down on. That is very important." Yennefer and Jaskier proceeded to explain some of the basic features of the cell phone as they understood them. Their accuracy level was probably kind of mixed. "Are there any questions?"

“Welcome back,” Goose nodded to his class, “for today’s lesson we’re going to start looking into specific engineering modules and today we are going to be looking at mechanical engineering for the next couple of weeks, this week we will look at the general history and overview of mechanical engineering and next week we will look at specific sub genres and disciplines,”

He began to go into a general overview of thehistoryof mechanical engineering, making sure to highlight specific achievements and what it involved.

“For something different, I thought we would also start the practical components of this course and for this project we will look at the mechanics of an old analogue wall clock, which I realise is probably outdated for most of you, myself included but the principles of mechanical engineering still apply here,” he said, “so you have different options for designs and the tools needed to build and see how you go following the tutorial.”
