"You know," Summer said, as she got their final session rolling that fateful Tuesday morning, "the last class is always the most difficult, because I feel the need to make sure I leave you all with a strong impression of what this class was and how you felt about it, so there's always this pressure to make sure the last pie is really memorable. That said, you guys almost got a pickle pie for today...I can definitely still give you the recipe if you're interested, but, since we already did a vinegar pie and I sort of felt maybe those might be in the same subgenre of pie, today, instead, you're getting Cool Ranch Dorito Pie."

Was weed somehow involved in this decision? Surprisingly, no! The ultimate deciding factor was thinking about that distasteful little expression Hannibal got on his face whenever a recipe seemed to rely on something highly commercialized and processed, so you can all thank him for this one, really!

"I did also consider attempting an actually normal pie for the last class, too," she admitted, "but, I mean, come on. Where's the fun in that?"

A weird feeling in the air that morning combined with an official summons back to the Seireitei for what was being called 'official Shinigami training' left Shunsui feeling actually a little glad for the distraction that his class would provide that week. It allowed him to put off, at least for a little bit, having to decide which was the lesser of two annoyances: dealing with whatever was going to be going on here, if anything, or deal with...'official Shinigami training.'

Both left the impression that they would be thoroughly annoying, but no one really cared when he skipped out of stuff here. With the Soul Society, there were at least three hens that would be pecking at him regarding his absense, so he supposed he was on his way back there as soon as his 'obligations' here were fulfilled. Which meant he saw no reason why not to try to put off the inevitable while things were just a weird feeling in the air around the island for him.

"Konnichiwa, ducklings ♥!" he greeted them brightly. "Todays' game will be our last one," here, he gave a little bit of a pout as if he wasn't rady to be done with a class that had him doing fighting stuff, "and since we're all adults here, I'd like to celebrate a successful passage of another summer session by treating you all to drinks of your choice at the bar later, if you would like to celebrate all your fine work done here in this course ♥."

And totally not just an excuse why he couldnt' return to the Seireitei earlier, really! It was just coincidence that he would be delayed because he made a promise to his students, and he couldnt' just break a promise, could he? How terribly dishonorable!

"But that ♥," he flashed a grin, "is for later ♥. For now, allow me to introduce you to Irooni, which means Lustrous Demon. It is a color-based game, one that employs a bit of strategy and consideration. You see, before you strike, you must choose a color, and it is only when you strike that color on your opponant that you will do any damage. So, of course, if someone where to fight me and choose Pink, they would do well to attack at my back, but have a little success of they were going for my chest; they would want to choose Black for that, and should I shed my haori," he let it flutter to the ground for effect, standing there now instead in his white captains' robe over his black base robe, "they would be in trouble, as there is now nothing n my person they can strike with effect. Simple enough, right?"

And here, he had to chuckle.

"Unfortunately," and that word was infused with a great deal of sincerity, "there is one other catch. The damage you are able to do is directly correlated to how much of that color you yourself are wearing ♥. So let's say," he swept down a moment to pick the haori back up, slipping it back over his shoulders, "I were to choose pink. I could make myself incredibly vulnerable, since so much of my body is covered by pink, but, since so much of what I am wearing is pink, I can deal far more damage when I strike someone wearing pink. If I were to choose black, and shed both my outer robes, then I make myself even more vulnerable, but can cause more damage to my opponant if they are wearing black.

"Make sense ♥?" He snorted faintly. "It's fine if it doesn't. Basically, it is as much strategy as anything. I do have some interesting and colorful clothing options available if you'd like to make things a bit more interesting, but, with that, find a partner and let's play ♥.

"And, don't forget ♥. Drinks on me later for your troubles ♥."

Travis was quite used to regularly having his sleep disturbed, so it wasn't too hard for him to rally for class even after a couple of nights of extra dead-people-filled dreams. (Michael, of course, but also Pruitt and Pilar and even Rico. . . .) And hey, it was his last week with this particular magic training room, and he was going to make the best of it!

"Alright guys!" He clapped his hands. "Teamwork time!" He clapped his hands, and the previously blank, empty Danger Shop turned into a maze of similar looking hallways filled with debris. An alarm was going off, blaring loud and flashing red, and smoke was seeping out of the air vents and through plain wooden doors. "Your job today: get everyone out of here. Preferably without getting fake burned."

One of the smoking doors at the end of the hallway, just under the exit sign, caught fire.

"Good luck!"

Yes, that framed photo of Captain America and Sam was still displayed prominently on the wall behind Sam. Yes, Sam was positioned behind his podium, occasionally giving his photo adoring glances before checking the time.

"Good morning students! Welcome to our final session! The summer is nearly over. I hope you have been enlightened by our time together. I have certainly enjoyed sharing some of the best parts of this great country with you."

Was that what Sam had been doing this summer? Sure. Let's call it that.

"I wanted to do something special for our final class together. I considered recreating the Miss America pageant with you all as contestants. However I was contacted by a legal team advising against this. Enforcing intellectual property is also very American and must be respected." Also those Muppet lawyers saved everyone from Beaker winning the swimsuit competition by a landslide. You're welcome, Fandom.

"Instead, we shall discuss theme parks!" Yes, he said discuss. You didn't really think Sam would do anything so fun as take you on a field trip, did you? Perish the thought. You were getting another PowerPoint. "Particularly Disney parks!" Because Sam was owned by the Mouse along with all of his friends.

"Disneyland," Sam said, "opened in July of 1955. An extremely American vacation destination for the past 66 years! Why, it is so American that when you first enter the park you find yourself on Main Street, USA. Even some Disney parks located in countries other than America have this idealized vision of the American past for you to experience! Even in...France." Sam gave a little shudder. "You will find yourself in a small town, with quaint and wholesome shops and appropriately themed dining. A magic shop, bakery, a barbershop, a fire station, a town hall, a hot dog stand...all things you can find on various Main Streets in Disney parks around the world. And more, of course! Horse-drawn vehicles, trolleys, a cinema, and a magnificent experience involving our 16th president. You will truly feel transported to a more simple time in this country." You'd feel more transported if Sam had taken you on a field trip though, wouldn't you?

"In addition to various delightful Main Streets, you may find such areas as Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom. There you will find the Hall of Presidents, an educational and thrilling attraction involving each and every American president. You may also find some outdoor entertainment, at times, that I hear is quite good. Additionally, many parks contain Frontierland, a celebration of the American Old West! And at Epcot, in Florida, you will find the American Adventure in the middle of World Showcase. Because we are at the center of it all!" Sure, Sam. "Also located there is a truly wonderful barbecue restaurant."

"I recommend visiting these parks," Sam continued. "For a truly American experience. Of course, you should choose the two American parks over any of the others. Naturally." Sam wanted you to visit, really he did. He just didn't want to visit with any of you weirdos.
