APPLICATIONS FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS FOR SUMMER 2021!

Hello folks! It's time for applications again! To apply, read the following information, click the link to the application form, fill it out for the character you want to play, and send it off!

Popping this outside the cut since it's different than usual:

* Teachers are required to teach at least one class/workshop per week, and be accessible to students when needed.

Since folks had fun with this last summer, we're doing it again: instead of having Community Center courses in town in addition to the summer camp workshops, we're going to have ONLY Summer Camp workshops... which can be open to both students and adults!

Who can take your workshop will be up to the teacher, but the idea is that we want the teachers and townies to have the chance to participate in some of the fun, silly stuff that's traditionally a part of FH Summer Camp. So you can choose to run a regular students-only workshop, an adults-only workshop, or one that anyone can join, but they should all be designed with summer fun shenanigans in mind, and even the adults-only workshops will have the use of the FH campgrounds and school facilities.

What this means for apps is that we won't be accepting Townie applications to teach workshops this summer - if you want to teach a workshop this summer, apply as a teacher, and indicate on the application whether your workshop is open to adults only, students only, or all. (Regular Townie applications will remain always-open as usual.)

Application Form (This is a GDoc whose text you can paste into an e-mail or attach as a txt file, then send to us at fandomhighadmins dot iambicnut dot com.)

You only need to fill out the parts that are relevant to the type of character you are applying for (ie: if you're a student applicant, don't fill in the stuff marked 'Townies Only').

If you don't get a confirmation email from us within 24 hours, please email us!

Applications close April 25th at 11:59pm Eastern. The next application session for students and teachers after this will be for the Fall Session in July!

The Art of Japanese Culture through Untranslatable Words; Monday, Fourth Period [04/05].

If there was something in the air that week, then Shunsui mostly didn't notice it, mostly because any effect it had on him was prettty much exactly the same as he usually was on any given day, though there was no denying something about the week had influenced which phrase to cover in this week's class. Sitting at his usual spot with a distant, beatific smile, it might be a moment longer, too, before his mind wandered out of where it had been drifting in consideration of possibilities for the day ahead of him and into the actual classroom where he currently sat.


"Ah ♥." His smile tilted a little as he remembered why he was there. "Yes. Class time~ ♥. Konnichiwa, ducklings~ ♥. Ohayō gozaimasu~~ ♥. Today, we're going to talk about koi. Not the fish, but love. Most specifically, koi no yokan:

"Koi no yokan: the feeling that you will soon fall in love with someone you've just met. You may be thinking, 'ah, but Kyōraku-san! Isn't that essentially just love at first sight?' Ara ara, ducklings, it may seem that way, but there are little nuances and differences that make koi no yokan different ♥. 'Love at first sight' is actually hitomebore in Japanese, and suggests that you have immediately fallen for someone upon that first instance of meeting, which, considering how many beautiful people there are in the world, can sometimes be a frequently occuring occasion on the daily ♥ ♥ ♥. But with koi no yokan, that initial immediate love may not necessarily be there at first, but instead, there is a feeling deep inside that even though you do not know this person at all, there is a tug in your chest, a knowledge of inevitability, that this person is someone you will come to love eventually. It isn't there yet; it may need to be cultivated, fostered, cared for, like a newly budding plant or a shy little kitten, but the seed of love is there and it only needs time to germinate ♥.

"And since koi no yokan is a feeling, something to be experienced, it won't do us any good to sit around in a classroom all day discussing it. So I won't keep you today, not when you could be out there harboring your own koi no yokan with some new lovely stranger out there ♥."

On this week. Of all weeks. It could very well be a great week for koi no yokan indeed!

"So, go, go, go ♥." He gestured his hands in the air as if brushing them away. "Fly off, little ducklings, seek out those seeds of love in the spirit of koi no yokan, and you can report back to me next week on if you were able to do anything to inspire those seeds to grow into vibrant blossoms ♥!"

"Movie day!" Barry said as soon as he entered the room looking rather agitated. "Movie day."

He brought down a screen and hooked up the projector to show the first science related movie he could find.

"There. Mother fucking dinosaurs. Watch the movie and write and essay. Or something."

And then Barry went back to working on a strange looking air filter.
