It felt good to get back into the workshop classroom again. Sometimes, if it wasn't broken, you really didn't need to fix it (although Amaya felt that those instances were very few and far between!). Either way, she was eager to get started on another semester of just making things and maybe teaching a few things on the way, and it didn't take long for the class to get gathered this semester, either, so it was time to jump right into it.

"Morning, everyone," she greeted them with a nod, "and welcome to Shop Class. Where we build things. That's pretty much the name of the game. I've got some coffee over there if you need it to put a little pep in your step, because we're definitely going to be working with some heavy equipment throughout the semester. Not so much today, since it's only our first class, but eventually. Now, there's only a handful of you this time around, and I know one of you fairly well," which meant that Shuri was pretty much just taking this class again for the funsies, and Amaya very much approved of that!, "but Janet, Troy," she nodded to them in kind...or at least who she assumed they were, because, well... "welcome, I hope you're ready to learn and build, because that's what this class is all about!

"And since there's just the three of you this time 'round," she continued, "I figured this was a good opportunity to really give this class a focus on teamwork. So I hope the three of you like each other, because your projects are going to be mostly focused around working together to build something. We're going to start this week out with something simple, just so you can sort of see how you work together and I can kind of get an idea of where you are, and for that, we're doing the quintesential shop class project: building a birdhouse.

"Material and tools are all provided for you; if you haven't used a tablesaw before, please leave that to one of your classmates who have or take a few seconds to let me show you. The design, size, whatever else specifics about the birdhouse are entirely up to you three, though there's plans if you want 'em, and remember! Since this is a workshop and not a danger shop, you're not doing anything unless proper safety equipment is on your face and hands!

"If there arent' any questions, then," she threw them an eager grin, took a moment for a rousing pound of her fist into her palm, "let's get started!"

There were piles of books that needed to be put away. Piles.

And even though the library aide really wanted to take a nap, the books were having none of it. As soon as Eleanor's eyes started to close another book would drop on her head.

After the fourth book Eleanor let out a loud groan and started putting books away.

For the first time. Ever.

Upon arriving in the Danger Shop for today's class, the students would find themselves in a well-appointed solar in a medievalesque castle, along with Yennefer, who was lounging in a chair drinking wine, and a rather large red-haired man, who some of them might or might not recognize from their history lessons, also lounging in a chair drinking wine. Yennefer might or might not have jabbed at the buttons on the controls until she got something between 'typical boorish noble' and 'a certain orange-haired tin despot,' was all she was saying.

"It is a rainy day in a lovely kingdom," Yennefer said, "and you are an advisor to a terrible king." She gestured with the wineglass toward Henry VIII. "That's him. The king. Now, your role as an advisor is to advise, to offer guidance...but sometimes the person you're guiding is a fool who has terrible ideas all of the time. For the good of yourself, everyone around you, and of course the peasants, you still must try to curb these impulses. Constantly. For example, today, we are visiting a noble in our kingdom, let's say a duke, for the commemoration of...some grand battle, probably against the elves or something. That ceremony is going on as we speak, but the king has opted at the last minute not to attend...for his health, you believe you have successfully convinced everyone, but probably so his outfit doesn't get messed up by the rain. Instead, he is here, in the duke's castle, awaiting their return and the beginning of the feast, and a new problem has arisen: the king has decided he quite likes these tapestries," here Yennefer gestured again with the wineglass to the hangings on the walls, "and he wants to take them with him. As a gift. Which the duke did not offer him. He has not yet summoned a servant to order the tapestries packed up, so you have a few minutes to avoid this grave offense to a powerful noble. Talk His Majesty out of it."

Hello, Definitely Not Re-Enacting Survivor class! Thank you for reading Steve and Tony's email and arriving in the Preserve. If it helps, your teachers look just as un-thrilled about being in the Untamed Wilderness as you are.

"Welcome to Advanced Team Building," Steve said with a smile. "If you're worried this class is going to be a lot of trust falls and climbing obstacle courses, well..."

You were right to be worried.

"There will be other things as well!" Tony said, trying to give them hope. "So, let's make this nice and easy for a first class, shall we?"

There was a small pile of tarps and ropes next to the teachers which... might be a clue.

"Working together--" you were going to get so tired of that phrase, class, "--and using these tarps and ropes you must build a shelter with these supplies that you can all fit underneath," Steve said.

"It's a good ice-breaker if you're new!" That was so painfully corporate, Tony.

"We'll wander around, check your progress and get your names," Steve added helpfully.
