And so the journey continued! This time, the class was making their way up into the trecherous, "snowy mountains bordering Serenia, or at least Amaya's best estimation of it, where the views are spectacular but the path is dangerous. Bundled up and ready to trek through the snow, she gave the class careful warnings while cryptically mentioning that some travelers have encountered trouble in this mountains that had nothing to do with the freezing temperatures or the slippery slopes.

And, wouldn't you know it? There was that exact trouble now, emerging from a cavern in the form of a large and terrible yeti!

Luckily, there was another cavern close by that the students could duck into to put together a game plan and, of course, find a bunch of random stuff that might help.

"I think by now," Amaya told them with a grin, and a nod, "you know what to do. A single enemy, though, by the looks of it, so I think a group effort or a multiple-point of attack might be best! We're a little low on the usual resources out here in the snowy mountains, but let's see what we can find and what we can put together so that we may continue our quest."

Today's class was in the Danger Shop for once and when students arrived they'd see that the room had been turned into a wheat field. The sky was blue, the weather was warm and because it's the danger shop, nobody could get an allergic reaction.

"Today we're going to talk about science in application," Barry began. "Too often we lose sight of what science is for. It's not about grants, theories or even money. It's about making the world a better place. Take a look around you. It's just wheat, right? Well not to Norman Borlaug. He realized that vital elements could be harvested from the stalk of the wheat. In his hands, India, which at the time had been ravaged by drought and overpopulation, the wheat crop increased from 11 million tons to 60 million tons annually. Later, similar strains for rice and other cereals were developed in Asia. Hence, the “Green Revolution” began – a movement credited with saving up to 1 billion people from starvation. For his contribution to saving a billion lives? He won the Nobel Peace Prize. So for today's exercise-"

He adjusted a couple of controls and the shop turned to a default white room.

"-I want you to come up with something that science can do that will make the world a better place. I've turned on the vocal controls for the Danger Shop, so just tell it what to make and explain your thoughts to the rest of class."

Today the Danger Shop looked like a villain's cave lair. There were person-sized cages set up around the room apart from each other. There was a moat of sharks, just because Kitty thought it was fun.

"Morning! You've been captured!" Kitty greeted them. "It happens to the best of us sometimes. You're trapped in this lair, there are cameras watching you and guards at the door. Your job today is to get out of the cages and past the guards. You can work to save your classmates too, or you can save yourself and hopefully I tend to get help. Powers are fine, but the guards are set to attack when they catch on, so keep that in mind. Any questions before we start?"
