jedigrammarians: (Aphra: listening)

When her class arrived at the park, Aphra sat on a mat on the ground with her eyes closed next to a sign that read.

Do Not Disturb

Important Jedi Meditation in Progress

Sit down and become One With The Force.

Occasionally a faint, rhythmic noise came out of her mouth. It was totally a meditation mantra and not snoring.

"You know what?" started Summer, as they were back in the home ec classroom, and it was time to get class started, and she looked a little wistful in an almost meta way. "The best thing about this class? Is that it really doesn't require me to go on for paragraphs with information to get to the point. You guys know the drill by now. No theme, other than perhaps going along with the theme of there not being a theme to this week in general. Just three ingredients, and a challenge to make the most out of them in a way that doesn't want me to throw up in my own mouth. It's good to enjoy the simple things in life, isn't it?"

With that, she gave a soft, reflective sound that went with her smile.

"Now, to your battle stations, contestants, and we'll reveal this week's ingredients!"

"Today," Yennefer announced, "we will be making..." She picked up the card and read, "paczki. Oh, I love paczki!"

"Aren't those deep fried?" Jaskier asked. Because of their track record and all.

"How the hell should I know?" Yennefer, who was teaching a baking class, asked. "I just eat them." Except today, she was going to have to make them. Oh dear. "Are they?"

They were. The class could tell because there was an oil fire just behind the teachers. "Did you do that?" Jaskier asked once he noticed it.

"Wasn't me," Yennefer said, and extinguished the fire with a flick of magic.

It reignited as soon as she'd turned her back.

"...so, paczkis," Jaskier said, trying for bright cheer and looking mostly panicked. "Best of luck."

"Surfing," Duke said. The waves were back to normal this week. Which meant they existed, not that they were anything to really write home about. "We've got some nice beginner surf going on here, so lets give it a try. If you're not a beginner . . . well, there are sea turtles out here, too. Maybe they can show us a few tricks.

"There are boards here for everyone. Pick one out, and we'll get started."
