Class had been moved to the workshop space today, and Amaya was so eager to get to work on this one that she was literally standing there, rubbing her hands together in anticipation because they would be working on actual physical things that day, instead of just ephemeral ideas, and, even though Wayne had got them started with his odd little scrap prop, there was so much more to do!

"Today," she started, with her eager grin, "we start building the things we need to make this work. We're talking costumes. We're talking sets. We're talking props! Everything we think we might need to make this story really come to life, while we work out some of the finer details and make it all come together."

This was definitely Amaya's area of expertise. Seivarden could make sure they didn't end up with more skel farming tools or other useless things. She didn't quite trust Amaya to see that sort of thing as a problem, although suggesting that it was a weapon that could explode would likely work.

This was Seivarden's plan: Anything unsuitable had to be turned into something that exploded.

Amaya definitely had no issues with this plan.

"Now," she said, "I know at least one of you," she nodded to Wayne, "has some experience in building things, but if you have any questions or you're not sure how to go about making what you have in mind, don't worry, I've got you covered, and we'll figure it out. We've got a lot of reference photos and sketches," why did Amaya have so many sketches of Radchaai ships? Why wouldn't she, is a better question!, "for you to work from, too, but definitely get together with each other and figure out what you'd like to help make this world come to life a bit better. And I know we could probably just boot up the Danger Shop if we wanted to for backgrounds and whatnot, but that takes a little bit of the fun out of it, don't you think?"

Seivarden probably shouldn't be surprised that Amaya had been able to capture the ships with such detail after all the entertainments they had watched together. She held up a drawing of a Sword. "Something like this would be suitable for the hero," she said, then gestured towards some sketches of non-Radchaai ships. "And those would make good enemy ships.

"We need more than ships though," Seivarden continued. "Like costumes. Look at the reference photos, and then we can discuss what would be suitable for your character."

"So," Amaya said, nodding, and giving her customary 'let's get to work' pound of her fist into her palm, "let's get to work."

Yennefer swanned into the classroom three minutes after class was due to start and said, "Now, this is the point where I should teach you how to read minds. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to teach you how to read minds. I just figured it out. My teacher just lined us up in pairs and told us we couldn't leave until we told her our partner's biggest fear, so eventually I did. Although not before trying just making something up," she admitted. "Turns out she wasn't afraid of snakes." She shrugged. "Remember, cheat when you can, but only if you can get away with it." A great lesson from a teacher, right?

"Instead, let's talk theory. Why might you want to read someone's mind, and why might it be a bad idea to do so? Discuss."

"Good morning," Steve said, smiling at the assembled people from where he was standing on computer-generated sidewalk programmed to look like a boardwalk, complete with crashing waves somewhere behind them and people yelling about hot dogs and soft pretzels.

"Today we're going to experiment with chalk art."

"Which means you won't be able to take your art home, but you can enjoy it for its impermanence," Tony said, smiling at the atmosphere they'd put together here. It was homey. You know. For New Yorkers.

"Next week we'll try sand castles," Steve said excitedly. "But today: chalk. If you make a mistake, just hit it with water and the whole piece'll disappear." He pointed to some that had already been placed onto the sidewalk. "You can mess with three dimensions," he said, "or keep it more simple."

"And, if you don't think it's for you... there's always making hopscotch squares for exercise," Tony added with a quick smile.

"Tony's favorite game," Steve said oh-so-earnestly. Just ignore the eye-rolling and playful shove Tony was giving him as soon as he said those words.

"Let's get started, shall we?"
