So apparently summer workshops were generally an outdoor affair, which Duke had no problems with. He'd spent most of the year doing his Tuesday morning yoga on the beach, after all, so a campground area only really meant he didn't have to worry about getting sand all over everything.

No, the trouble he was seeing was definitely not where his class was.

He stared at the little sign someone from the school had helpfully put up near the designated class area. "Ungulate yoga. Ungulate yoga." He looked at the array of yoga mats on the grass. And the herd of baby goats. "Ungulate yoga."

One of the goats spotted him, and a moment later, the whole herd was gamboling over to say hi.

"Right." Duke looked down at them and shook his head. "Of course it is."

He'd regained his composure by the time his students were due to arrive, seated on his yoga mat at the front with one of the goats in his lap (look, you try to resist those adorable little faces). "Namaste," he said, pressing his hands into prayer position and bowing slightly as he looked his students over. "Welcome to — Ungulate Yoga. Hopefully none of you have allergies. Or a paralyzing fear of goats. First thing's first, introductions. I'm told it's traditional.

"I'm Duke Crocker. I've been a practicing yogi for about twelve years now. I run a mid-size fishing boat by myself, which requires strength, flexibility, and a cool head, all of which I've found through my practice. I'd like each of you to tell me your name, yoga experience, and what you're hoping to get out of this class."

One of the goats jumped up onto his shoulder. He grimaced faintly and laughed as he shoved it back off.

"I guess interacting with animals is a valid answer to that."

After introductions, he had the class stand up to learn their first flow.

"A flow is any progression of yoga poses, chosen for ease and fluidity of movement between each pose. One of the most basic common flows is called the sun salutation. It moves through several beginner-level poses, working and stretching the entire body. So grab yourself a yoga mat and shuck your shoes if you haven't already, and we'll get started."

"Ohhhhhhhhhhkay, then!"

There they were, in a classroom, a regular classroom, not even Summer's oh-so-hilarious Danger Shop classroom, which was how you knew that this class was some serious bullshit right here. It was a home ec classroom, too, with high tables and stools and a little kitchen area and everything, and Summer kiiiiinda looked like she just wanted to burn it down. But she wouldn't. Not yet. That was definitely more of a 'toward the end of class' kind of activity.

So welcome to pretty much the worst class idea ever. )

"Oh," said Summer, emphatically, with a snort and a grin that turned that earlier hommicidal glint into an absolute floodflight, "he'll get a fucking warning, alright. On that note! It's your turn! Again, just to get a base level established, let me know who you are, where you're from, and what marraige means to you, your culture, or whatever. And throw in any questions you have while you're at it, or, heck, even if there's anything in particular you're curious about, we can do that, too. Just know that we will absolutely not be taming any willful wives in here. Not on my watch. If anything, I want to create them.

"Who's first?"

Jaskier was prepared for his first class, lute strapped to his back and a well worn notebook in hand. "Welcome, welcome... a little more intimate of a class than I thought it would be, but I can work with that," he said, powering on through. "We'll be learning the very important skill of turning history into a story that people will actually remember."

Note how he didn't say it would be an accurate record, just a catchy one.

"I am Jaskier and I have a bard for many years now, having traveled here and there and, unfortunately here again. How about you introduce yourselves and we can see if any talent lies within you for this?"

Otherwise this was just going to be a struggle. Or at least a project to work on. Either of those two.

Was it a little weird to have to bolt from a class she was taking so that she could go and make sure all was set up for a class she was teaching? Yes, yes it was.

Luckily, Nina built to thrive on challenge like that. And she'd set it up beforehand which was, well, the real reason she couldn't do yoga this semester. She needed time to prep things beforehand! Her classroom was the Danger Shop, set up with kitchen stations for each student.

Each station was equipped with a wok, a stew pot, five measuring cups that were each filled with a different item, and a carton of twelve eggs.

There was also a camera set up to record all of this.

Good morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )

She clapped her hands together. "Okay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Names and one dish you want me to cover—though, like, with seven weeks I make no promises!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After that, we'll get to making ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
