The students might assume something was up the moment they saw the sign on the classroom door that was distinctly lacking in hearts...or really disctinctly lacking in much of anything at all except for one single word:

GYM.

And, when they arrived at the gym, they would find a very different curly-haired instructor than their usual one waiting for them, and definitely no cocoa. Just a lot of mats and an irritated presence.

"So," Rosa started, "apparently, don't ever agree to help out with someone's class, because, if you do, the moose in the office thinks you're a good substitute teacher for that class, despite the moose in the office being the direct focus of many threats that prove you are quite possibly the least pacifist person on the entire staff."

Well, that might be a stretch, but, honestly, if you thought about it? Rosa put in a pretty good run for that title. The competition was pretty fierce, though.

"Anyway," she said, "I don't believe in pacifism, like, at all, I think it's dumb and this whole class is just a waste of your time or a good way for you to wind up getting your ass kicked by someone someday, but I hate dealing with that stupid moose, and so here we are. And I'm going to teach you some self-defense moves you can use when you reach that point where you realize that pacifism is dumb because it's a good excuse for someone to just kick your ass, and it's more direct than that Aikido stuff we did the other week. So, pay attention. I'm only going to go over this once."

That was very untrue, she would definitely break it down if needed, but Rosa figured that, by saying as much, it would lessen the chance that any of them bothered her about it any more than necessary.

Today there was a fancy table full of cups of coffee and teas, along with a bunch of fresh pastries.

"Morning, everyone. Feel free to grab the breakfast stuff," Kitty said. "I didn't bring it, Fandom seems to have provided it."

She wouldn't mind if this stuff went on forever, actually?

"And it's maybe needed, because today's question is getting philosophical," Kitty said, and pulled out her notecard. "Today's class is about Destiny. If there really is no such thing, then just what the heck is going on? If a crimefighter fights crime because Destiny told him to but it doesn't exist, then what is he doing? Is the crime being fought? Is it even crime? Is the crimefighter committing crime himself by punching the apparent criminals in the face and thwarting what may apparently not be their Evil Schemes?"

She lowered the card and shrugged.

Tip was a little distracted at work this week. Which was one-up on absent, like she'd been for the last few weeks. Her very last Fandom prom was at the end of the week, which meant that her graduation wasn't far away at all.

And she still had no real idea what she wanted to do next.

She'd been accepted to a couple different schools, including the new university program for humans on New Boovworld, but none of them were quite speaking to her yet. She'd never expected to feel apathetic about potentially going to college, but such was life.

Honestly, she'd expected to be pissed because it meant she was becoming an adult, and adults were dumb. Turned out that idea kind of faded as you got closer to adulthood.

Probably part of the dumbing process.

"Holo day! And it's not in Basic so it's culturally enriching."

Truly Aphra had exerted herself here, especially since she hadn't bothered to find a version with subtitles.
