"Welcome back, everyone," Amaya greeted the class with a nod. "Sorry I'm a bit late, I had to help out with radio and then put teh Squirrel Crumbler away, which turned into a whole process, what with the squirrels attempting to destroy it in the meantime. It was a whole thing."

And she had the scratch marks on her cheek to prove it!

"Now, I'm sure some of you know, today's a sort of holiday." One she was going to roll her eyes over a little bit. "I mean, there seems to be a holiday for just about everything around here. But this one in particular tends to involve a tradition of getting people flowers, which I'm sure some of you received today since the school does that what flower thing. And flowers are lovely and all, I'm a bit of a horticulturalist myself, but one things flowers aren't is permanent...unless maybe they're made of metal.

"So that's what we'll be doing today," she continued, holding up one of her own finished products and passing it around for them to see and start getting an idea of how they'd be making them. "Metal roses. Taking a small break from what we were working on last week, because, while I'm not a big fan of this holiday, I am a big fan of practical classes. These guys may look a little complex, but that's deceptive, they're actually pretty easy, but don't worry. I'm show you."

Amaya lead them through the steps, from tracing out the three base layers on a sheet of metal and cutting them out, cleaning them up with some sanding and hammering, drilling the holes and welding the stems, and then heating and shaping the petals into its final form.

"I've got printed instructions to refer to if you need them," she said once she'd finished up the demonstration, "and feel free to ask questions if you've got them. Go ahead and get your supplies and your safety gears and let's get to work."

The teachers were absent today. The students were happier not knowing why.

In their absence, several bags of chocolate had been left on a desk, and a sticky note had been attached to a remote: PRESS PLAY

Anyone who did so would be rewarded with a movie playing.

"So," Seivarden said. "I see that you survived that party you had last night. Just to be clear, even without aphrodisiacs in the air it's not civilized to have a party with kissing games without wearing gloves."

She gave Tisarwat a look.

"But today we're going to talk about something else, although obviously I do expect you to wear acceptable gloves as usual, of course."

Here she gave Mae a look.

"Now, politeness is usually a good thing, but sometimes you need to make sure someone understands you disapprove of them. This should of course be done in a civilized way. So today's exercise will be to first think of a situation where you would need to express your disapproval, and then come up with an insult, in words or actions, that's subtle enough to be proper, while clear enough not to be mistaken for a compliment."

"A simple example would be when your poor cousins yet again invite themselves for tea. You could serve them using an inferior tea set, while talking of the expensive one someone just gave you. No one is going to miss the point, of course."

"So please, go ahead."

Wait for OCD. OCD is up.]
