"Morning, everyone," said Amaya, nodding as the students hopefully managed to get the message and find their way over to the shop classroom instead of the forge today, which at the very least should have been a lot easier for them, all this water considered. "Apologies for yet another class without actually doing much active blacksmithing...the good news is, this week we've got steel again. The bad news is that the forge itself is completely underwater. And I know we could have just rigged something up pretty easily in the Danger Shop, but it's not the same thing, so we'll just make do with what we've got avaiable in the workshop. No forging today, unfortunately, but I figured it's a good chance for us to go over weapon maintainence, especially since all my pieces need a little extra love this week for having gone for an unexpected dip in the drink.

"Any questions? If not, I'll go ahead and let you guys give it a try with some of these swords here, and a few axes and daggers, too, if you want to practice on something a little different. As you can see, they weren't in the water long, but they've already got some rust settling in, but not enough that it can't be fixed up. It shouldn't take a whole lot of time to get used to, really, so I encourage you to give it a go on a few pieces to really get the hang of it. Now, I know it's not a very exciting class, and I hope to make it up to you if the island eventually decides to cooperate, but it's still a very important class, and that there's the take-away."

It seemed the flooded island deterred the teachers this week. Or made theor socks super wet and icky and just no fun all around.

Either way, class was back at the school where things were dry with a tv show was all queued up for them.

Cara was trying to clean glittery slime off her leathers...it wasn't working. "Normally I wouldn't have a problem with leaving you all to deal with the wildlife, but there are some things I don't want to deal with again, so you can watch cartoons instead."

"It's got everything you could want! Superheroes, sparkly transformation sequences, weapons..." Magnus trailed off, trying to come up with more "Um. Japan?"

"A lack of tentacles." Oh, Cara, there was no guarantee of that.

Magnus had a number of concerns over that.

"Oh, and it's a completely new intellectual property with no connection to any existing entity," he added. Just in case. "TM, TM, TM."

"This weekend, I hear many of you experienced prospective futures," Ender said, his mouth quirking. "I feel like I have to assure you all, if you haven't been through this already, that none of these are fixed or even certain."

They'd moved to the edge of the pond, as he'd told Sidon he would do. Though this week, it probably wasn't as necessary as it had been. Ah well.

"They can be useful lessons in what to do or to avoid," he continued. "Something you shouldn't do, or someone you shouldn't push out of your life, no matter how tempting it might seem at the time." Not that he'd had any experience with this or no. "Of course, they can also be ridiculous twists of fate. Or a place you'd like to wind up. Whatever the case, there's always something to learn, I feel."

He looked into the group.

"What was your weekend like? Were you older, or yourself, or not present at all? Do you feel it means something, can you find any instruction on it, or did you experience it as a load of nonsense?" A pause. "I wouldn't fault anyone who did."
