The Island Hates You (Yes, You), Thursday Period 2
Thursday, December 14th, 2017 05:59 amFor the final class, the teachers were dressed festively. Well. Sort of.
There was some leftover tinsel on them if that counted.
"Congratulations on making it through the class," Magnus said. "We are just super proud of all of you. Right?"
"Right." Would it hurt you to try to sound convincing, Cara? "But that doesn't mean we're going to go easy on you." Which might come as a surprise to those who were used to her Onsen-based finals.
It was okay, Magnus could just make up in earnesty for her.
"Nope! Because this island doesn't go easy on you either," he said. "Sneaking donuts into your shoes. I mean. I really liked the latkes and the bears, but things could go way worse."
"Did you punch the bears?" Cara asked in an undertone. Because bears were for punching. "Worse than you could ever imagine." And by now they should be able to imagine a lot.
"Nah, I like bears. I got this cool bear mask and everything. We just rassled." Not wrestled, mind you. Rassled. "So, we brought you cookies!"
Awesome segue, Maggie. Just spot on.
"Yes." Enthusiasm, Cara, it was possible to have it. "However to get them first-"
Cara was cut off by the appearance of a giant snake with metallic scales. Hey, maybe that had something to do with your final!
"--you gotta go through this guy," Magnus said with a wide smile.
Well, at least the class was always interesting?
