Right. So. Last week had happened, and then Jono had come in to the school to prepare for class this morning, only to have the office gremlin pull him aside and explain that he might want to avoid the Danger Shop today. The safeties were fine, he had nothing to worry about there! But yesterday there had been a... thing.

Mostly Jono was impressed that somebody at the school cared enough to tell him that he might want to spare students further traumas. And that the office gremlin was surprisingly well-spoken in spite of his tendency to occasionally interject 'chompy' and 'bitey' into the middle of his sentences.

So, Improv's final was being held in a regular, boring old classroom today. But Jono had brought an assistant.

//This is Joni,// he said, once the students had filed in. He held the little kitten, wide-eyed and ears perked forward, up in the air for everyone to see. //And today, she'll be interviewing you all for the very important position of head kitten cuddler at her company, KITT, Inc. Her interview methods are a little on the hands-on side, of course, but you'll need to explain to her in depth why you're the best person for the job, even while demonstrating your ability to do it and do it well. Here on the desk, we have the kitten brush, the stick with the feather at the end of it, and a dangly ribbon. I trust you all know what to do.//

He set Joni down on the desk, and then gestured to the seat across from her.

//One at a time, your job interview starts now.//

Peridot had a library job! Her excitement by this was pretty clear as she made her way in for her first shift today, made her way over to the returns desk, and...

...

Okay, the excitement faded fairly quickly as she looked up, and up, and up at the pile of books that needed to be checked back in and re-shelved, situated precariously overhead. This was a disaster waiting to happen. Or, at the very least, a poofing. She couldn't afford a poofing on her first day!

It would be at least an hour before she realized that step ladders were a thing. Bear with her.

Well, it was snowing marshmallows out. That was... you know what, that was fine. A-okay even.

"We're supposed to have a final exam today," Steve said, "but given the events of last week, that seemed needlessly cruel."

Tony nodded in agreement. "So, for making it through this semester, you get the easiest class we could think of after the one with pillows and baby animal videos. Snacks and naps."

You will all wish for naps in a few years, kids. You will wish you could nap all the time.

"Healthy snacks!" Steve said with a bright smile. "There are protein shakes and stuff."

Thanks, Steve.

Look, kids, Tony had tried to get you candy. He really did. "And pillows and--" Tony took a breath like he could not believe this was something he was actually going to say. "--Snuggies for you. They're like blankets with arm holes. You can keep them. Consider it a gift."

Because Tony would be forced to burn any left over.

"Blankets with arm holes," Steve repeated. "Why do those exist?"

"Because America, Steve." Wasn't that answer enough? "Just be glad I didn't find the Avengers themed ones."

Steve winced. "Yeah, I'm very grateful."

Tony clapped his hands together to smile out at the class. "Enjoy yourselves and have a good break. Try not to get into any trouble. If possible." Because this island did make that difficult, after all.

Given what had happened in the Danger Shop yesterday, Ghanima had requested the students meet in one of the regular classrooms. Desks and chairs had been removed in favor of oversized pillows and beanbags, blankets, and a small table by the door had been set up with a tea service, coffee, and hot chocolate.

Ghanima had already claimed a seat on the floor, sipping at a tea that wasn't available to the students, as she was still carefully balancing and replentishing the Spice levels in her body after last week.

"The last week has been trying for many people, in many different ways," she said simply, once the majority of students had arrived and gotten comfortable. "And, perhaps, educational."

"I'd like for you to share something you've learned this semester. If you are not feeling up for discussion, then please listen attentively to your classmates, and weigh what they have to say against your own experiences."
