"Welcome back, students!" Mr. Peanutbutter greeted. "I hope you all had as wonderful a time with your guests this weekend as I had with mine." There was adventure and disguises to be had, it'd been amazing. "This week I thought I'd give us all a nice break and cover our topic du jour in the most teenager friendly manner there is: the film strip."

That's right, not "video", not "movie", film strip.

Mr. Peanutbutter pulled down the projector screen over the chalkboard, turned off the lights, and then realized that with the lights out he couldn't see to run the projector itself.

"Could I have a volunteer to run the film for me, please?" he asked the darkened room. Every class had to have an A/V geek in it somewhere, right? "It's just there at the back of the room. Easy as pie."

Mmm. Now he wanted pie.

Today's class was meeting in the Danger Shop, which was set up to look like an empty street in LA, with a neat row of Mitsubishi Eclipses awaiting the students.

"Oh, no!" Brian said, much more cheerfully than his words. "You're being chased by the cops! Doesn't matter why. But you don't want to get caught. Also doesn't matter why. Your cars are equipped with GPS guiding you to a safe location, but you may not be able to take the recommended route. Prepare for frequent reroutes. First one to shake your cop wins. Aaaaand GO."

Every time Parents' Weekend rolled around, Cosette always felt somewhat guilty that she only had to go across the causeway to see her father, and that it never turned out badly or awkwardly like it did when some of her classmates' families came to visit.

So today, she busied herself arranging a display on the merits of comfort reading, taking care to include a number of different genres among her examples. No such thing as 'guilty pleasure' reading, if you asked her.

[OOC: I forgot breakfast so I ate the OCD. Open and actually posted for once, oops!]

"Today we're going to have a discussion about honesty," Anakin said, very much not making eye contact with Obi-Wan.

"Specifically, in the context of last weekend," Obi-Wan said, his mouth a thin line. "I'm sure you've all felt inclined to tell white lies, either to your parents about your current situation, or to your friends about your parents."

"Or to your roommate's visitors just for fun," Anakin said.

"Whatever the case," Obi-Wan said, "Sometimes lies are not spoken with ill intent, but rather to defuse a potentially bad situation. In such cases, do the ends justify the means? Are white lies acceptable?"

Anakin nodded vehemently. "I would say yes."

"There is a certain arrogance in it, I feel," said Obi-Wan, like he didn't rigorously embrace the practice on a daily basis. "To believe you know every consequence your words - and the truth - may have."

Anakin snorted. "Because the Great Negotiator has never stretched the truth a little."

"I'm merely offering a counterargument," Obi-Wan said. Serenely. Sort of. Okay, it came with a bit of an edge, considering Anakin's track record.

"Sure you are," Anakin said, pursing his lips.

Obi-Wan ignored him. "Today, we'd like to discuss this matter," he said. "Do you think white lies are helpful? Damaging? Arrogant? Best avoided, or utilized when necessary? And when do you consider them necessary?"
