After taking care of any returns, Face was hard at work researching for his future presentation for that conspiracy class. This mostly involved a lot of trawling the holonet.

Oh, hey, some particularly enterprising (and not particularly concerned how long a lifespan they had if the Empire found them) being was selling fabric based on post-Yavin Rebel propaganda. That could be useful.

Early in the morning, Clint sent emails to all of the students, hopefully early enough to keep them from showing up to class.

Hey guys,

I'm on a trip that's taking me a little longer to get back from than I expected. Have a great week and I'll see you all next time.

This day, Obi-Wan would not be caught unawares by the island's tricks. This day, Obi-Wan would not utilize the school, or its facilities: he would take this class to the parking lot, where they might be safe.

It did mean a slight tweak in the curriculum, however.

"There are codes of conduct bound to almost anything you can think of," he said, "And likely more, if you wind up visiting the right - or the wrong - species."

He gestured towards a car. "Take this planet. It values its motorized vehicles highly. As such, there is etiquette bound to the use of them. For instance, getting into the back of a car. There is a rigid hierarchy to this: the most coveted spot is to the back and on the right. The next goes to the left, and the most junior person must be seated in the middle."

He pulled open the back door of the sizable car.

"There is the matter of getting seated, as well," he said. "You are supposed to sit down first, then swing your legs in later. This is good for both decorum, as well as avoiding flashing any body parts at your fellows."

He gestured at the car. Nothing had gone wrong yet; this had been a good idea. "Let us practice these two rules, taking order of arrival as order of prominence. After that, we shall move on to the next exercise."

//I hope you all brought warm clothing,// Jono said, only a touch abruptly once it looked as though everyone who was coming to class today had arrived. So sue him, he was having one of those Mondays. //Because once we step through that portal, you're all going to feel a bit of a chill.//

He'd been a snake all weekend. He didn't have to be chipper. )

[Class #3 - the Hanging Ten Job]

Another day, another portal -- this time to the West Coast, somewhere in California.

They gathered on a secluded stretch of beach between rocky outcroppings. A series of different shaped surf boards stood upright in the sand, and large, reasonably paced waves crashed against the shore. Eliot walked over to greet an aging hippie sort of man in a rash guard and board shorts.

"Hope you all brought your swimsuits," Eliot said. "Today we're all going to learn how to surf. This here is our guide, since neither Parker nor I has actually done this before."

“But we watched a lot of Youtube videos!” Some of which had really weird soundtracks. Or a lot of people drinking Red Bull. “So we’re going to be learning too.” She grinned at their guide. “Thanks for doing this, these are our students. They’re very good at taking risks.”

"That's definitely good when it comes to surfing," the man said. "We're going to start out with some basics here on the sand before we get into the water, but we'll get you all riding the waves soon enough. You have trouble anywhere along the way, just yell for Gordon and I'll be right over to assist." He clapped his hands together and smiled at the class. "Alright, everyone grab a board and let's get started, huh?"
