"This is the class about hitting people," she said, once there was roughly the right number of students in the room. "If that's not why you're here, leave now."

She took her time to look over the various students before continuing. "Since the squirrels will likely revolt if there's a first week class that doesn't have introductions, that's what we're going to do. So tell me your name, why you're here, what kind of experience you have fighting, then try attacking me so I can see what I'm working with." Because that was totally a normal thing that happened in introductions, yes. "No weapons, and don't aim for the face, since I don't want to have to explain at the clinic how you broke your fingers."
