Class was back out on the lawn today. And again, there was a box, although this one was much smaller.

"Today," Bob decreed, "we're going to play a sort of reverse tag. Everybody gets one of these." In the box were a number of white crystals, each a few inches long with a string tied around the middle. "They have locator spells on them. They'll point a general direction toward what they're looking for. What they're looking for," he grinned, "is another one of the crystals.

"Whoever gets the target crystal gets a head start. Then the rest of you get to try to find them. Simple enough." Of course it wasn't that simple; this was Bob. "You'll want to be careful, though; every so often, the target will change. You'd hate to be running up on someone when suddenly they have to find you."

He smirked. "Have fun."

After collecting her students at the school, Cara led them down to the abandoned warehouse district, and then to a suitably isolated and claustrophobic back-alley.

"Hopefully by now you've noticed that the island is regularly invaded by various things spoiling for a fight, and for the most part you can't talk them to death," she said once they'd stopped, definitely not pointedly avioding looking at Kira assuming she was there during that last part. "Since the inevitable fight usually ends up taking place in the streets, it's a good idea for you to figure out what that would b like, assuming you haven't already done so."

She gestured around the alleyway. "I want you to take a look around and try to figure out how you'd use this space, and what you could use in it if you happened to get caught in a fight here," she said. "As far as actual weapons or tools you'd want to use, assume you only have what you'd carry around town on any normal day." So some of them might be better off than others, just saying.

"You can move things around if you want to try any tactics you think up out, but remember we're not in the Danger Shop, so try to not hurt yourselves, I'd like to avoid a clinic visit."

"Good morning!" Irene was dressed rather differently than usual today -- she'd pulled her hair up into a high ponytail, and was wearing a pair of sleek yoga leggings. This probably had something to do, if you were a guessing sort of student, with the ten or so yoga mats laid out on the floor. There were comfy sweats and a dressing screen at the back of the room as well, for anyone who hadn't had the foresight to somehow know to wear flexible clothes to class.

"One of the most embarrassing things to deal with," Irene said, "is a sexual injury. Let me say first and foremost that if you aren't sure if something will fit somewhere, or if it will be easily extracted once it is in, don't put it in there. But, if you do anyway, don't be too afraid to go to the hospital and to be honest with your medical professionals -- they've seen it all, and they need to know what happened in order to help."

She clapped her hands together briskly, continuing, "However, if you're not being adventurous with your orifices -- and again, if you want to, please do some Googling first so as to avoid totally preventable things -- there's still always the risk of hurting yourself through the sheer act of sex. It's often like working out, or wrestling -- sex can be, obviously, very physical. I always recommend stretching beforehand, though of course that can be a bit of a moodkiller -- 'Hold on, luv, I have to stretch out my hamstrings before you bend me over,' and so on. So a good way to ensure that you won't pull anything is to stretch in advance if you know or predict you might be getting laid."

She gestured to a table where she'd put together some small handouts with varying poses demonstrated. "I'm a big fan of yoga in general -- it helps the mind as well as the body -- but from a purely physiological standpoint, yoga and pilates have been demonstrated to help with sex and flexibility, and the meeting of the two."

She plucked up a book from the same table, smiling. "Try out the poses in the handout and see what feels good and what feels tight, and stretch accordingly. Then flip through this, and see what I mean about how stretching beforehand is not only a good idea, but a huge part of sex since pretty much forever."

"When we come to this island, we're frequently alone," Ender said. "Some of us can't even return to where we came from, or talk to our family or friends - either because it's physically impossible, or because we don't think we'll be believed."

There had been a risk of thunderstorms today, so Ender had preemptively moved the class inside. To the gym, where they could sit on mats on the floor and retain some of the closed-circle sense behind their outside meetings.

"There's a lot of ways to deal with that," he said. "Maybe you bring something with you you can cling to. Maybe you've got some way of closing yourself off from feelings of loneliness or homesickness. Or maybe you're just glad to be here with us, happy to explore."

He took a sip from his water bottle. "How did you feel when you first got here?" he asked the group. "How do you cope? Do you think there are some coping strategies that are better than others? Do you feel like you belong here, or do you think you ever will?"

Once he finished asking those questions, he threw a quick glance towards a certain member of the group. "Alluka?" he said lightly, "Would you mind sticking behind a little longer after class? I have something to talk to you about."
