"Good morning," Hannibal said when everybody had arrived. "My apologies for last week; I was rather under the weather. This week, we'll be working on something simple and from someplace other than Europe, as requested." He smiled and nodded at the students who'd requested those things.

"Mochi is a traditional Japanese food - it can be a snack on its own, or it can be combined with other things. I have a number of examples here. It has only a few ingredients, and is fairly simple to start, though you do need to be precise and careful."

He pulled up the recipe on one wall and went over it with them. "You may make the plain version, or dress it up however you like. Please feel free to ask me questions if you have them."

Library, Sunday

Curious about what he'd heard on the radio this morning, Face taken one look around the library and had said with a small wave of his hand "I wish you'd keep yourself tidy" and with a great display of acrobatic skill the books had started shelving themselves.

Now, given the previous behaviour of the books, it was entirely possible that this might have happened even on an ordinary weekend, but in any case, Face was sitting back and enjoying his completely unearned well earned break.

Today the class was told to meet in the Home Ec room, so five points to your house if you can tell what you're doing today!

"Last week we did some shopping, so this week we're going to follow up on that. With cooking!" Kitty said, looking to see if anyone was excited about that. "So, there are actual cooking classes here, and I'm not going to get too in depth about it, but we do have to go there for one class. People make a big deal about not being able to cook, and I mean, there are some people who are just terrible, but for the most part, you're fine. The simple stuff isn't that hard, and while you can just throw something in the microwave or order out, cooking for yourself is cheaper, healthier, and you might even have fun with it. So I'm just throwing you to the wolves today. I want you to go through the cookbooks I have here, and make a meal from it. Anything you want, as long as it's not like 'put cheese on toast' or anything like that. We've got everything you should need, I think, so get to it, and if you need help with the oven or whatever, let me know."

Today the teacher was indeed in front of the class. Try to contain your shock. Along with that, there was a large assortment of what could be considered scraps from electronics.

"Today we're going to work on robots. Very basic designs because Pepper kept inundating my email with liability lawsuit memos. But if you happen to add onto things and I don't notice..." He waved his hand in a 'que sera, sera' motion. "Just don't build anything that will destroy the building."

He didn't think he provided enough of a power source for that sort of damage. But who could tell with magic potentially involved?

Damn magic.

"Oh and don't burn yourself when soldering. That's also a lawsuit. How to people even teach anymore? Everything fun is a lawsuit."

"No, look, I -" Bob stopped abruptly as the students began filing in, and gave the room's console a dirty look. He was not at all sold on what it had decided was a properly relaxing meditation room, but he wasn't about to argue with it in front of class. Mostly because he didn't think he was winning.

"Get comfortable," he told them all. If you could. He was just going to pace as he talked. "Now that we've had a bit of fun and games with magical influence, you should all have a better idea of how you stack up against something like that and what it feels like. The next step is learning to fight it. The best way to do that starts with knowing it's happening. Not all magical influence is as blatant as a rock yelling 'tell everybody about me!', after all."

He waved them toward the squishy pillows and light-up...whatever they were. "Most techniques to learn your own mind are fairly similar and start with meditation, so that's what we're doing today. Whenever you're ready."

He'd just wait.
