Riley was not asleep in class today! He'd had a nice, long nap during office hours so he was awake and ready to go for class today.

"Hey guys, welcome back," he greeted, giving them a wave. "Today, we're heading back to across the ocean to Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan. Fuji-Q Highland is the site of our next ride, the Takabisha. Now, this is a very unique ride. Why? It's the world steepest roller coaster and also as a 121 degree drop. Yeah, that's possible. Roller coaster designers are insane, let me tell you. It goes from 0 to 62mph in two seconds and is about 3300 feet long. But, just wait for that drop. It's a good one."

With that, the sim got going and Riley got the class on their way.

//Wikipedia,// Jono began, once students seemed to have settled in the music room for the day, //defines folk music as both traditional music, and the more modern genre of music that evolved from it in the 20th century. The traditional sort is also generally defined either as old music with no known composer, or music that has been passed around orally, or performed according to custom over time.//

Thank you for that, Wikipedia. Jono would have had a hell of a time defining it otherwise.

Today the workshop smelled like compressed wood, cardboard and Swedish meatballs.

Guess who'd gone to Ikea before class, kids! Go on, guess.

"Today we're gonna learn about hacking furniture the same way a programmer hacks a computer," Ben said. "We're going to take a standard piece of furniture and make it astral."

Or extremely wobbly, depending on the student's skill at putting things together. "Now you've been here long enough to get an idea of the standard layouts of bedrooms and common areas, and you've probably noticed at least one thing you wish you had that looked better or functioned more efficiently or was powered by rockets--"

Ben.

He grinned. "Anyway. I've put up pictures and opened up a website here to give you ideas, and I've also stocked a bunch of the more common furniture types that people tend to use to take apart and make better. If you're a compulsive rule follower, you can also just make the furniture the way the directions say to, then paint it or varnish it to make it look less generic. I'll take the pieces you guys don't want and use them to decorate my office. Unless you make a rocket-powered desk chair: that I'll give to my partner."

Ender was a lucky guy, huh?

"Oh and go ahead and snack on the food I brought too--it's impossible to leave that place without hot dogs, cinnamon buns, ice cream and meatballs. I don't understand it, but I'm not going to question it either."

This week, class was being held in the Danger Shop, which was pretty exciting for Kate even if she wasn't going to tell anyone that. What was even more exciting was that she had successfully gotten it to simulate a mall. A mall filled entirely with clothing stores in varying price ranges and styles, and no, that wasn't a mishap. It was all on purpose.

... Okay, except for that one store that sold nothing but lime green clogs. She had no idea what had happened there.

"We've been talking a lot over the last couple of weeks," she started, standing outside an upscale clothing store with designer dresses displayed in its window. "And I figure that can get kinda boring, so today, we're gonna do something a little more hands on." She gestured around. "Go around the mall and buy – with your totally fake, totally limitless credit cards – an outfit that you think is awesome and makes you feel awesome to boot. You can totally do this by yourself or in pairs or just the whole group together, I don't care. Just make sure everyone has a full new outfit. Then at the end of class, come back, show off your outfit, and explain why it's awesome for you. That's totally simple, right?"

She hoped it was.

"Okay, go."
