The Danger Shop looked...odd, today. Half the room was the gym area that had shown up before, with its padded floors and training dummies, the other half was, frankly, a mess. A wide alleyway and plaza filled with all kinds of random objects, from tools to sports equipment, to assorted kitchenware, and various other bits and bobs. As each student entered, Bond handed them a blindfold.

"Today we'll be looking at improvised weapons," Bond said, after the class had finished arriving and he'd greeted them. "This exercise isn't exactly throwing you in the deep end, but it's close enough. How it's going to work is relatively simple, I want you to find an object you think you can use as a weapon in that section of the shop, then test it out on one or more of the dummies in this section, after which I want you to consider how effective a weapon it actually was, as well as try to think of ways you could improve on it in a pinch, then if you have time you can repeat the process with something else."

But because there was always a catch. "However to help provide an approximation of the kind of constraints you'd usually be under if this was really happening, you'll have to first put your blindfold on before you enter that side of the room, once there I will signal you to remove them, then you'll have somewhere between fifteen and thirty seconds to choose something, which would likely be longer than you'd have in that situation."

Pinkie balanced an egg on the end of her nose as the class came in, this week.

"Quick," she said. "Someone toss me a whisk!"

Yeah, that was a brilliant idea.

"Nobody toss her a whisk," Derek hissed, trying to snatch that egg away before he was hit with it. Because he knew his luck, okay? He knew it well.

"I can do it!" Pinkie insisted. "How about a coconut? I bet I could balance stuff to the ceiling!"

She was the best teacher ever. Look at that focus.

Derek sighed the sigh of the straight man in the worst best vaudeville comedy act ever, masquerading as a high school cooking class. "We're doing cream pies today. The pie shells are all pre-baked, so it's just figuring out what kind of filling you want to try making."

"We have ingredients for chocolate or banana or coconut or --" Pinkie frowned, looking over her ingredients. "-- chocolate! Or you could make all three in one super-amazing-delicious pie!"

Somehow, this was going to end up with Derek getting a pie in the face. It was basically destiny.

God, how his life was terrible. "Just. Get to work," Derek muttered, trying to get the whipped cream off his face and look like a serious authority figure. It did not work.

It was okay, Derek. Most of this class lost their respect for you weeks ago.
