Surprise! You weren't on a rooftop today in the Danger Shop! Instead, you were inside a warehouse.

"Today will be the last part in a small trilogy of combat classes as well as a segue into some non-violent situations," Batman said. "We started by seeing how you fought unarmed. Then we got an idea of how you'd like to fight with a weapon. Today I'll be giving you instruction on how to cheat in a fight."

"Forget honor in combat. I have two rules; no guns, no killing. Anything else is fair game. I've built my persona around that. I dress like a bat to inspire fear to gain an advantage. I often start fights from the shadows, taking down an enemy before they even realize there's a fight to be had. I can and will smash through windows, in part to show a lack of fear, in part because the sound will startle a criminal, and in part because sending shards of broken glass in someone's face is a great way to distract them. I have no powers and I walk into fights seemingly unarmed, but between my belt, cape, gloves, and boots you really have no concept of how many weapons I have on me at any given time."

A class where cheating is technically okay! )

Class was back in session and Riley was back to being Riley. He was really glad about that. Today, the class was in the Danger Shop again since he needed the arcade setting.

"Good morning. Hope all you guys are enjoying being guy shaped again. I know I am. Anyway, less said about that, the better. Today, we're going to be playing Asteroids. Asteroids is a multi-directional shooter arcade video game released in November 1979 by Atari, Inc. and designed by Lyle Rains and Ed Logg. The game is pretty simple. The player, which is gonna be us today, controls a spaceship in an asteroid field which is periodically traversed by flying saucers. The object of the game is to shoot and destroy asteroids and saucers while not colliding with either or being hit by the saucers' counter-fire. The game becomes harder as the number of asteroids increases, and they become faster."

See, sounded simple right? Wait till you got to the higher levels, people.

"Asteroids is another one of those games that left a lasting legacy on the video game industry as well. Asteroids has been acclaimed by players and video game critics for its vector graphics, controls, and gameplay. It was one of the most popular and influential games of the golden age of arcade games, selling 70,000 arcade cabinets and being widely imitated. It has since been ported to multiple platforms. So, let's give it a try and see who's the best Asteroids player in the bunch!"

Riley got the Danger Shop going and the arcade came to life! Time to play Asteroids!

There was a large, shy-looking dog curled up in a doggie bed by Jack's desk, watching attentively as the students filed in.

"First things first, that's Natasha," Jack said with some pride, indicating the dog with a jerk of her thumb. "She'll probably be hanging out during class most weeks. She's shy but sweet. Just don't make any real sudden moves around her or she freaks."

"Second ... so I dunno if my mind is going or what, but while I was walking her over the weekend I could swear I heard kids playing. Made me think about how a lot of us had some crappy childhoods. Can't change them, but we can have a little bit of fun now. Today we're playing playground games. We got a hopscotch board, a Chinese jump rope set-up, a tetherball, and we're going to all start by playing red rover. If you don't know how to do any of those, don't worry, I'll explain while we go. Now let's play."
