Advanced Criminal Justice, Monday, Period 3
Surprise! You weren't on a rooftop today in the Danger Shop! Instead, you were inside a warehouse.
"Today will be the last part in a small trilogy of combat classes as well as a segue into some non-violent situations," Batman said. "We started by seeing how you fought unarmed. Then we got an idea of how you'd like to fight with a weapon. Today I'll be giving you instruction on how to cheat in a fight."
"Forget honor in combat. I have two rules; no guns, no killing. Anything else is fair game. I've built my persona around that. I dress like a bat to inspire fear to gain an advantage. I often start fights from the shadows, taking down an enemy before they even realize there's a fight to be had. I can and will smash through windows, in part to show a lack of fear, in part because the sound will startle a criminal, and in part because sending shards of broken glass in someone's face is a great way to distract them. I have no powers and I walk into fights seemingly unarmed, but between my belt, cape, gloves, and boots you really have no concept of how many weapons I have on me at any given time."
Batman focused on the sneak attack and the hidden weapons during his lecture. For the sneak attacks, he explained what to look for in a hiding spot; namely, cover and a vantage point. The cover could be established by careful use of shadows or obstructions. He explained that ideally, you would also be able to see or at least hear what was going on around you.
For the weapons, he mostly just explained that anything small but damaging that you could fit somewhere on your person, you should carry assuming it didn't slow you down much.
That's when he started pulling batarangs, a couple switchblades, two pairs of brass knuckles, and a piece of brick out of various locations without even touching his utility belt. For good measure, he even removed three sets of lockpicks, but that probably wasn't all of them.
"We have two items for you to work on today. First, stock up with whatever small weapons you can fit somewhere on your person," Batman said. "Second, each of you will run through a simulation or two. As you can see, there are plenty of places to hide. You have to find one that will allow you to get an advantage over a mercenary armed with a gun. As always, you won't be hurt if you're shot. But it WILL make you restart the simulation if you are."
"If you're feeling confident, you can try this against two mercenaries. Let's get started.

Listen to the Lecture
Step 1: Conceal Weapons
Re: Step 1: Conceal Weapons
Step 2: Sneak Attacks
In fact, that's exactly what Batman demonstrated before people got startd. He even showed of by nailing the merc with a batarang to knock him out.
Please note that you're free to use your choseb weapon from last week in addition to any
Re: Step 2: Sneak Attacks
He settled for a view from the rafters. Higher ground was the more sound strategy anyway, right? His weapon of choice was a little less elegant, but it was kind of cathartic to just drop a half a brick onto the head of the merc as he passed by below him.
Optional Step 3: Higher DIfficulty

Re: Talk to Evan
But nope. Still didn't occur to him to try. Sigh, Evan.
