Today, Riley had commandeered several old Nintendo consoles for class. It was good to have geek friends sometimes. Once all the consoles were connected, Riley waited for the students to file in.

"Morning," he said brightly. "Today, we're gonna have our first real class. Super Mario Brothers might be the most well known video game out there. Ask people to name a video game and four out of five times, they'll probably say that one. The premise of the game is simple but it was pretty darn mind blowing for its time. For those that don't know, you take control of Mario, a humble plumber, and have to get through several worlds in the Mushroom Kingdom to have Princess Toadstool from the evil clutches of Bowser. Of course, there's no real explanation on how a princess knows a plumber but just go with it."

Riley did and had loved every minute of it. "This is the game that birthed the classic line that's still used today: your princess is in another castle. Really aggravating to a young kid, let me tell you. Just when you thought you'd beaten the game, you were kicked in the stomach and had to keep going."

Okay, it wasn't that bad. "Grab a controller and get going! See how far you can get in the allotted class time. See if you can find a warp tube or how many lives you can rack up and just have fun!"

With that, Riley picked up a controller and started his game up because he was damn sure gonna play too.

The gym had an assortment of trampolines in it today: An individually-sized one for each student, and then a larger one behind them, on which Jack stood (bounced) in place as class began.

"Hey," she said, a jump on each word. "Today we're working on trampolines. A basic trampoline workout has three moves -- bounces, prances, and squats." She demonstrated each of them. "It feels fun until it kills your core muscles. But stick with it until you get comfortable with the way the trampoline moves under your feet, and you can start doing things like this."

And there she executed a perfect front flip, followed by a backflip.

"Those aren't as hard as they look, and I'm here to spot you," she said, then launched into the technical explanation of how to do the flips -- still bouncing the whole time."So, we're warming up with the basic workout in the first half of class, and then you can try out the tricks. Two of you can get on the big trampoline at a time if you try not to bang into each other. Got it?"
