When the students stepped inside the Danger Shop today, they'd find themselves in what appeared to be a small clearing in what otherwise appeared to be a dense old-growth forest. At Thor's feet were the backpacks the class had packed a month and a half ago. There were also a selection of swords, axes, spears, and maces spread out on the ground nearby.

"I hope you all enjoyed the break," he said, once everyone was assembled. "And that you've come back prepared to embark on a quest, as that is what you'll be doing today!" he beamed at them. "Find your pack, and then select your weapon. Your objective is to reach the end of the trail safely, at which point you will be rewarded."

Once everyone had collected their items of choice, he waved a hand, gesturing towards the trail leading out of the clearing. "Begin!"

As the students entered today, they would see the following text scrawled on the chalkboard in Ghanima's neat handwriting:

In making tactical dispositions, the highest pitch you can attain is to conceal them; conceal your dispositions, and you will be safe from the prying of the subtlest spies, from the machinations of the wisest brains. How victory may be produced for them out of the enemy's own tactics--that is what the multitude cannot comprehend.

All men can see the tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.

Do not repeat the tactics which have gained you one victory, but let your methods be regulated by the infinite variety of circumstances.

O divine art of subtlety and secrecy! Through you we learn to be invisible, through you inaudible; and hence we can hold the enemy's fate in our hands. )

The classroom was dim when the students entered. Pinkie was wearing sunglasses and a lampshade for a hat, sitting rather sedately next to an old fashioned movie projector. Then she let out a faint snore.

Okay, then.

She snapped awake when class was meant to start. "Following up on our class before the break," she said. "Public speaking is an important part of being a team member or a leader! So we're going to watch a really great speech, today! It's two hours long, but it won a bunch of Earth awards, so it must be pretty good, right?"

Vetting movies before showing them to impressionable high school students was for suckers.

Like the first time this class met, the Danger Shop was a warehouse, with all manners of moddable breakable things lining the shelves about as far as the eye could see. Electroclash was even by the door again.

But, looking cranky and wrapped up in a big sweater. Because she had a mighty case of the flu and had no patience for this thing. "Break shit of your choosing," she said, voice even a little raspier and deeper than usual. "I don't fucking care."

Well, you heard the lady.

Hopefully by now everyone was over vacation and ready to deal with a chipper teacher who expected the book reports you totally had an extra week to finish. If you weren't, then you probably should have skipped class today.

"Hey, everybody! I hope you all had enough time to get your book reports on the meta for Little Women, so if you could pass those up to the front that'd be great." Then Jess waited till she'd gotten them all before passing out the newest book to the class. "This week we're going to be reading the meta for Catcher in the Rye. It's the story of a mentally ill teenage boy who basically runs off to New York for a few days and... has some really weird encounters with people, and it's one of those books where people seem to take an issue with it? So before we read it, I want to know if you've heard anything about this book, and whether someone else's opinion of a work influences you at all."
