As usual, Jaye was at the front of the Danger Shop theater, but today, she had popcorn in hand, because she hadn't had breakfast and this was totally a real meal, and she was totally a respectable adult. Except for all the parts of that that weren't true.

"This week we're almost jumping genres," she began. "We have a romantic comedy that's also a teen movie from the 90's, back when Freddie Prinze Jr. was kind of sort of a thing. Never heard of him? Yeah, you probably shouldn't have. Anyway, watch, and... I don't know, give me an essay on your philosophy on teen life."

One day someone was going to call her on the fact that her essays had even less to do with philosophy than her movies, and then she'd point out that she didn't usually read the essays anyway so she wouldn't know.

As it turned out, Jaina had really needed a week away. Not only was she in a better mood than she had been in recent weeks, but it had also influenced today's class.

The students were back in the flight shed today, and with some simulated firepower at their hands, hopefully it'd keep them happy for a week. "Today we're working with the clawcraft. It's another ship from my galaxy, mostly associated with an alien race called the Chiss. You sit in a ball cockpit, with curved wings around you, and you've got four cannons to work with. They're not as fast as some of the other things we've done, but it's got good maneuverability and can be fun if you're into that sort of thing."

She gave them a quick tutorial on how to work these ships, and then said, "You're going to be dogfighting against another one of these things. You're squaring off against trained pilots, so if you're not quick learning these things, you might have a little bit of trouble. And if you're into competition, you can go ahead and see if you can beat my scores." Which were definitely lower than Jag's. Which she knew currently because her boyfriend went ahead and bought his own simulator.

Sorry. She still wasn't over that.
