Today, the Danger Shop was set up like a dance studio, complete with mirrors along one wall and a woman dressed in a leotard, who was presumably also Danger Shop generated.

"Good afternoon, class, I hope you all enjoyed your break," Bond greeted them. "Now, counter-intuitive at it may seem, sometimes in order to blend you need to stand out, either as a distraction so another can slip by unnoticed, or because you're in a situation where lurking on the sidelines will draw more notice than participating in an activity. A prime example of this is at dances. However if you happen t end up in a situation like that, dancing badly then that will make you stick in people's minds, while good to excellent dancing will have them not focusing on your face. So today you're going to learn the tango."

That this subject was being covered the week of a school dance was purely coincidental.

Bond led his students though an explanation of the dance, as well as demonstrating with the leotard wearing simulation.

"Now, I'd like you to partner up and try it yourselves," Bond said, then indicated the woman. "Adele here will partner with anyone left over."

"You know, there's more worlds than just the ones we're sitting on right now," Yakko said to start class off.

You probably noticed that all of your chairs had been replaced by giant rubber globes that were actually difficult to balance on. He did this just for that opening line, which wasn't even a joke or anything.

And that's why it was funny. Well, that and people falling over.

"Today we'll be discussing the world of your imagination. If you're not sure what that is, it's the thing that projects images right into your brain. Besides the computer. And TV. And people with telepathy. All of those things are a cheap imitation and distraction from the real thing," Yakko said. "Except for when it's something I'm in, which only expands your horizons and you should always watch or listen or else."

"Everyone here is going to get a prompt for what you're going to pretend to be here in class. Then you're going to get to know each other's pretend selves while pretending to mingle. Have fun, or at least look like you are!"

April figured that the best way to make up for not being in class last time they'd met was to toss a brownie at Maeby as soon as she walked in if she was here, then move on. Class was meeting in the Danger Shop today, and she'd even made an effort to program it well enough that there weren't sparks coming out of the simulations, so she thought she had more than made up for it.

Because it was laser tag, guys! Lookit the shiny laser tag course! And the shiny armor! Very advanced stuff.

"I had a whole thing about how laser tag is not doing things because hiding is good and attacking people puts you in danger," April said, "but actually the real part that's not doing things is the part where it's a game and sometimes you play hooky and do this instead. So."

She gave a shrug at that.

"Number off. Evens get pink equipment, odds get green, and pinks get a three-minute head start to go hide." Because they were saddled with pink equipment, see? "Ready? Go."

There came a point in (nearly) every class where there was a movie day. Today was that day for the Drama! students. As it was the drama classroom, there were no desks, but there were a selection of comfortable pillows for people to sprawl out on as they watched Secondary School Stage Show.

"So." Sparkle was the one taking point on class today, and, for all that he'd never done this before, he was looking pretty at home there in front of the room. Possibly because his BS skills were fairly unparalleled. "Over the first half of the semester, the teacher's covered things like finding out where you wanna go, how you're going to afford it, what you're going to do so you're not bored out of your skull, that sorta thing. This week, you're going to learn about what to do when things go bad on you."

Beware. )
