Class was back in the Danger Shop this week, with the room set up with areas for everything they'd already covered. "Welcome back, guys," Jaina greeted them. "Being halfway through the semester, I wanted to check in and see how you guys think you're doing, or if there's anything specific you'd still like to cover, be it weaponry or combat techniques you want to learn, which we will be getting more into.

"Once that's done, you get a little bit of a free period, where you can pick something we've already covered and get some more practice in. If you need any help or want more tips, just ask."

Today the students would find themselves in the Danger Shop instead of the usual classroom: this time in a setting up to look like a house, with comfortable sofas and chairs to sit on in the living room and fully stocked kitchen behind it, and a trap door leading to the basement hiding under the rug.

...didn't everyone have that in their house?

When class began, Anakin came in through the door. "Welcome back from break. Today we talk about lying. Kant believed that any lie, no matter how small, was a violation of one's dignity. I, personally, think that Kant came from a magical bubble land where he'd spent his life swaddled in cotton candy, but some of you might believe he has a point."

Anakin certainly didn't think so, though.

He held up a list. "If I read your name off, you're a fugitive hiding in this house, which is owned by a student whose name wasn't called. In precisely three minutes, several armed stormtroopers--think police with absolutely no sense of humor--will be coming through the door. If they find the fugitives, they will take them away and kill them."

Anakin was full of cheerful scenarios.

"Homeowers: you have to decide if you will lie and say you have no idea where your classmate is, while your classmate tries to persuade you not to sell them out. If you get caught lying, you'll be killed as well. If you turn them in, it's possible--but not likely--you'll receive a monetary reward. Your real reward is still being alive."

He clapped his hands to begin. "Your time starts now."

Once you got past the sign and into the classroom setup for the day, what you'd find would actually be very minimalistic compared to the chamber layout from the midterm: just a large, open rectangular room with a sunken pit in its center.

A sunken pit with shiny blue goop spread all over its floor, to be specific.

"Well, you're back." GLaDOS was really hitting the bored, unimpressed note hard. "All of you, it looks like -- congratulations. No, not on surviving a week off. On remembering how to get here after a week off. That's about all I can reasonably expect out of you right now, though, so this week's test will be fairly easy. See that big open space over there? No, not the one between your ears -- yes, I'm talking to you. I know it's an easy mistake to make. The one in the middle of the room. Figure out what to do with that."

A brief clip of chirping cricket sounds played, then cut off abruptly.

"Try not to strain something thinking about it."
