"So there's this whole trust fall thing that they make people do at, like, business retreats and stuff," Kennedy began with an emphatic eyeroll, once everyone seemed to be accounted for. There wasn't any kind of elaborate setup in the Danger Shop today, just a grassy park setting, very generic. Not like Kennedy was much good at programming the thing, anyway. "Some of you probably've heard of them. Hell, some of you've probably done them at camps or something. Blah blah, let yourself fall backward without looking, trust your partner to catch you before you hit the ground. Cheesy, right? Like someone took a motivational poster and a Hallmark card and turned them into a smoothie?"

She smirked and rolled her eyes, then crossed her arms and turned serious, pacing back and forth in front of the class.

"Thing is, though, when it really comes down to it? They've got the right idea. If something bad goes down, it's so much better if you know there's people who've got your back. I don't just mean knowing they'll throw down for you if they need to-- although that, also a big plus. There's things like..." She looked mildly abashed for a moment. "Knowing they actually, you know, can, and not trying to pull all the weight yourself like you think they can't, 'cause that only pisses 'em off and makes things worse. Or trusting someone not to hurt you with their powers... flip side, trusting someone to keep you in check if they have to."

Kennedy seemed to realize she was getting a little projecty there, and half grinned. "So that's what you're gonna do today. Pair up, and take turns being the catcher and catchee. Powers are cool if your partner's down with that, but if anyone thinks it's funny to just let their partner fall, I am so kicking your ass for it. If just falling over backwards is too boring for you, you can always try falling out of a tree or something. I mean, hey, Danger Shop, right?"

The class was once again in the Danger Room. Only this time when they got there, they didn't have Summer -- they had Elle, looking slightly disgruntled. Because really. Elle, water, not with the mixing.

"Okay, everyone," she said once everybody had assembled. "Today we're in sunny sunny Bali." She couldn't remember if they'd been there already and she'd been unable to find her copy of the class paperwork with the list of every beach they'd be doing, so she'd picked something at random. Oh, well.

"We were supposed to be learning some new moves, but since it's just me today... go practice what you already know," Elle said. "Or try to experiment, but stay safe."

Electroclash looked grumpy.

Water was also still wet.

She held up a comic book. "Comic books," she drawled, "are yet another thing you might want to get your face on if you're a hero. Or a slightly altered but still sort of recognizable version of your face, in case your mug is that ugly. This particular comic book was self-published ––" Her dad had paid for it, yeah. Hence the 'Rampart Independent Publishing' logo on the cover. "–– but if you're gaining popularity or just are handsome or lucky as fuck, someone might offer you a contract for one. I hear there's a decent enough amount of money to be made there. But if you're that lucky, you probably already have money coming in from other stuff."

Cereal boxes and all that.

"But if it's someone else's product, you'll probably have fuck all to say about what the content ends up being. So today, we're pretending you're going to self-publish a comic book. I've got pen and papers for all of you. Outline what your first issue would be about: origin story, a random great heroic act, whatever. I don't care. You can work alone or in pairs, if you want to do a team-up story. Just remember it should be entertaining. You can lie. Let's face it, most of you have done absolutely nothing heroic in your life yet, and no one wants to read about your daring attempts at making campground breakfast this morning. Figure out something that might sell."

She almost went back to her random brooding before she remembered one last thing.

"Oh, and ask around if you're one of those lucky bastards from somewhere that doesn't have comics. Someone else is bound to be able to explain them to you."

"Good morning, class," Holmes said, clapping his hands together as everyone arrived. "I haven't a clue what that monstrosity was that was inflicted upon you last week. We can only hope you've managed to purge it from your minds before it takes hold."

Worst. Movie. Ever.

"Today you will be using what you have hopefully learned in your time here in order to disguise yourselves as the opposite gender." Aww yeah, cross dressing. He waved vaguely to the racks of clothing and decent pile of various make ups in the back of the classroom. "Your goal is to be able to pass well enough that a stranger is unaware your true gender. If you find yourself in need of assistance, work with your classmates. Consider this a test of your budding talents."
