"Good afternoon," Zayne said to start things off. Normal classroom today. It was going to be a discussion class! "A few weeks ago, I mentioned a situation where I turned myself in to Republic forces. I'd like to talk a little more about that and, hopefully, get us to a point where we talk about when the best thing is to stop running."

This class features discussion of the nuclear bombardment of a planet and why predestination sucks. Be warned. )

[OOC Warning: Seriously, in this class, Zayne talks pretty plainly about the deaths of thousands of people in an orbital nuclear bombardment. IC or OOC non-participation is understandable.]

"I hope everyone behaved themselves last week for Mr. Stark and Mr. Brink," Steve said as class began this week. He also hoped Mr. Brink had behaved himself, but he wasn't going to say that out loud. "This week we're going to switch gears a little bit and talk about things you can do with your partner instead of having sex." Take notes, Mr. Murdock.

"Hello everyone," Alistair chirped, as was his wont. "I know you're all looking forward to whatever we're going to discuss today, so we won't waste any time in picking a topic."

He was maybe slightly deluded about his own ability to motivate the class.

Alistair reached into the jar o'topics and pulled out one neat little print-out. "Today, we're going to be talking about..." He unfolded the note, glanced at it, opened his mouth, and said, "...Intellectual property rights!" Beat. "What?"

"Is that the right to have intelligent property?" Morrigan asked, bewildered, as she peered over his shoulder. "Human and Elven slavery is abominable, 'tis true, but I don't think my chickens are smart enough to need rights..."

"No, it's something about..." Alistair squinted at the paper. "...protecting... stuff."

Thank you, Alistair.

"Ah! Here we go," he said, and pointed at it. "'Intellectual property (IP) is a term referring to a number of distinct types of creations of the mind for which a set of exclusive rights are recognized under the corresponding fields of law.' ... What?"

"Like potions?" Morrigan guessed. "I do not share the recipes in my grimoire, but what has the law to do with that?"

"No, no, it's obviously like, forged paintings," Alistair interjected. "I never got the big thing about those. I mean, it's not like they didn't put in the effort..."

When the students arrived at the Danger Shop today they would see a most familiar image. That is if they were from Earth and they were in a time period where they've watch the Oscars on TV.

Yep. There was a red carpet, a danger-shopped paparazzi filled with a frenzy to take all of the students pictures.

"Greetings!" Jamie cried out, looking fabulous in a tuxedo, "And welcome to the Fandom Awards! There's clothes and a place to change into something fabulous for the red carpet! But don't take too long or you'll miss the award ceremony!"

"And make sure you've pasted your dresses and tuxes on right!" said Jeff, who looked rather more disorganized in his tux. "Nobody needs a nip slip tonight!" Thank you, Jeff.

"Oh and nobody pose like Angelina Jolie!" Jamie added. "She's got a trademark on it now and she'll probably slap you into next week."

Jamie didn't add that people should look out for a Jamie duplicate wearing a weird military uniform and carrying an urn. That part should probably be implied.

"Don't worry!" Jeff hollered, waving his hands at the paparazzi. "They're not real! No one will be judging your clothes tomorrow!" He sounded an awful lot like that had been said to him repeatedly during the minutes leading up to the class. He also sounded terribly unsure.

"Unless someone gets gremlin bit and thinks they are Joan Rivers," Jamie added. "In the meantime... let the festivities begin!"
