Today when William arrived in the library, it was to find that the floor had been taken over by a set of (model) train tracks. They wound around most of the room, through the stacks, and behind the circulation desk. There was the sound of a train whistle from somewhere in the geography section, which had William keeping a curious eye out for when the train itself would make an appearance.

The classroom looked much as usual this week, though Tyrion had bribed a member of the school staff to wheel in a DVD player and show him how to set it up.

"This is your lucky week," he began. "I'd planned to start a unit on military strategy this week, but I had some difficulty procuring certain materials. As a warm-up, we're going to spend this week watching a bit of filmed entertainment about knights. I can already tell you most of them aren't as pretty as the fellow in this film."

He hit play on the remote and eased back to his seat. "Enjoy the show."

"Today we're going to do something a little different," Steve said, "but I hope we'll all have fun. We're going to combine performance art and sculpture. So, first I'd like everyone to break up into groups of two or three, and then...you're going to recreate a famous sculpture from the links list provided. Please refrain from faithful rendering of any nudity found in said sculptures; this is a high school class. Props can be found in the bins," and included bedsheets, grey face paint, and stick horses for cavalry sculptures. "Get to it."

Don't ask how your teachers had managed to program the Danger Shop into an art museum. Just don't. It involved something regarding Morrigan bribing gremlins, and some moonshine that typically made humans go blind and - yes. But today, the students would be walking into an art museum.

Alistair's attention kept getting pulled towards a particular painting somewhere off in the corner, but he was doing his damnedest to concentrate. "Art is a big part of most cultures," he began, though the expression on his face betrayed that this wasn't really his kind of topic. "What you see here is the sort of art that's popular in this time and place. It's very..." He searched for a diplomatic word, "...Squiggly, from what I can tell."

"The moddable pieces you see here today were picked by local - ah - residents," Morrigan supplied helpfully, which probably explained the eclectic range of selections. "Of course, everyone has different definitions of 'art,' and what is or is not obscene or beautiful."

"Oh, look. This one has three eyes," Alistair commented absently. "But I'm sure /that/ wasn't a waste of money..."

Morrigan just shrugged. "At least it isn't some Orlesian woman with birds in her hair," she pointed out. "I will never understand noble portraits."

"That said, go wander about and find something moddable that you like. Or, convince the spirit in the room to make a recreation of a famous work of art from your home."

"And then we'll talk about--"

Pause.

"... Maker, are those hounds playing cards?!"

Today class was not in the Danger Shop. For once it was in a regular classroom. And even then the room seemed to be stocked with canned and other assorted goods.

"Good morning," Columbus said as he began handing out a comic books and pamphlets. "Right before Halloween the Center for Disease Control released a comic book on what to do for a Zombie attack. And while it was probably done for humorous effect, it does hold true for what to do for an inital Zombie breakout. Perhaps if my world was a bit more reactive or careful with handling meat my world wouldn't be overrun with zombies."

He paused for a moment to frown before moving on.

"So today will be a more pratical exercise. There's a duffel bag for each one of you. In this room you'll find a variety of items listed for use during an emergency. I want you to pack up your bag and keep it in your room at all times just in case there's a zombie outbreak. Or... this being Fandom, any kind of dangerous outbreak."

Columbus gave them a smile. "And enjoy the comic book."
