Anakin met his class on the causeway to the new town this morning. "Today's activities will be about survival in a not-quite tamed mining town. As usual, you will complete two activities while trying not to die." He stepped clear of the clue box. "May the Force be with you."

As difficult as it was, Jane was doing a spectacular job of putting aside the events of the weekend and the truly disgusting person she'd decided to be, so that she could focus on class and her lesson. Really, it was the perfect way to forget all about that, until she got back home to her apartment to clean up all the Slim Jim wrappers and send all the upending undergarments from her drawers through some incredibly thorough washing.

Jane went on, with diagrams and words, until all boards were filled and then she demonstrated deftly some of the filtration systems and stills she had previously discussed. When that was finished, she beamed at the students, who seemed so good at following along. "So there you have it! Plenty of ways to extract water in the jungles so that you don't die of dehydration, and ways to purify it so that you don't die in other ways. If there are no questions, then let us traipse off and put some of these skills to use!"

"Yo, Rookies!"

It was possible that Reno was laying it on a little thickly this week, to make up for an overabundance of manners and cute fuzziness over the weekend. His usual sharp grin was extra sharp today, and there was an unmistakable hint of trouble in his eyes. The fact that they were gathered in the Danger Shop today probably wasn't too reassuring, was it?

"Today, we're gonna talk about a little thing that most people like to call 'hobbies,' and I like to call, 'not bein' a pussy,' yo." He shoved his hands into his pockets and gave a grin at the group. "Sure, there are plenty of things that any of you can do to pass the time. Hell, any of what we covered earlier might even be part of it; gossip, shoppin' for nice things, givin' people a hard time. But there's more to life than any of that, an' if you wanna really impress people, havin' a hobby that's worth bein' impressed about can help with that, yo. Added bonus? It's good for provin' you can suck it up in the face of somethin' intimidatin'."

He pressed a button, and the Danger Shop shifted into a wide open area with several activity stations set up. Admittedly, this stuff probably wasn't really a valuable life skill for most people, but Reno wanted an excuse to do most of these things himself today, just for kicks, so people were going to have a hard time wiggling out of them.

"So, today, we're gonna take advantage of the Danger Shop to give a few of 'em a try, yo. You can pick one activity, or see how many you can get through before class ends, yo. Have fun with that!"

Rinoa was exploring new genres today in the library, and had decided to give true crime a whirl.

The stories were engrossing, but a bit unnerving, especially since people seemed eager to kill their own family members at an alarming rate. She hadn't made up her mind about the books just yet.

The library was open, and Rinoa would be more than happy to help you.
